Khama Billiat inspires Kaizer Chiefs to big win over Cape Town City

Kaizer Chiefs bounced back to form in emphatic style with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Cape Town City in their Absa Premiership clash on Saturday.

It was a first league win of the season for Giovanni Solinas' side as they weathered a City storm and then picked their opponents apart in the second period after the home side had been reduced to 10 men following a red card for defender Taariq Fielies.

It will be relief for Solinas, who had only won one of his eight games in charge...

MTN8 final to be played in Durban - PSL

The 2018 MTN8 final between SuperSport United and Cape Town City will be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on September 29, the Premier Soccer League has confirmed. Kick-off for the game will be at 19:00 local time.

The fixture is a repeat of last year's decider between the same two clubs at the same venue, with the trophy lifted on that occasion by SuperSport, who triumphed 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

The MTN8 is the first piece of silverware on offer in a...

SuperSport United win at Kaizer Chiefs to reach MTN8 final

SuperSport United went away to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday and won 1-0 in the second leg of the MTN8 semifinal at Soccer City to book a place in the final at the end of the month.

Bradley Grobler, who scored twice in the 2-2 draw in the first leg last Sunday, got the only goal of the return as SuperSport won 3-2 on aggregate and stayed on track to defend the title they won last year.

SuperSport could now face Cape Town City in a repeat of the 2017 final. City are 1-0 up against Mamelodi Sundowns going...

Chiefs led early after the opener for the Zimbabwean, but were then forced to come from behind when a first-half double from SuperSport striker Bradley Grobler put the hosts ahead.

The return leg will be played at FNB Stadium next Saturday, with the winner to face either Cape Town City or Mamelodi Sundowns,...

Tembo hails Ghampani Lungu after SuperSport debut

SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo has hailed the debut of new Zambian signing Ghampani Lungu, who played his first game against Orlando Pirates at the weekend in an unusual right-back position.

The-20-year-old attacker, who joined from Power Dynamos, was pressed into defensive service after Grant Kekana picked up a knock on the eve of the MTN8 quarter-final.

With Siyabonga Nhlapo and Jamie Webber already sidelined through injury, SuperSport were facing a crisis on the right side of defence and...
