Exeter climbed out of League Two's bottom three after a 2-0 win at Stevenage despite being reduced to 10 men midway through the first half.

Skipper Jordan Moore-Taylor saw red in the 24th minute but two strikes in as many second-half minutes from Lee Holmes and Ollie Watkins earned a surprise victory.

Exeter edged the opening exchanges and nearly took an 11th minute lead as sloppy defending set up Robbie Simpson, who had his shot hooked off the line by Fraser Franks.

However, Moore-Taylor's desperate...

Dayle Southwell's first-half goal was the difference as Wycombe Wanderers edged past Stevenage with a 1-0 League Two victory at Adams Park.

The Chairboys, searching for their first league victory since August 13, showed promise in a quiet opening period to the game with Michael Harriman's free-kick producing an excellent save from Jamie Jones.

The hosts then went close again with Southwell failing to convert a gilt-edged chance on the stroke of half-time.

Southwell however went from villain to hero...

Stevenage made it back-to-back wins as Tyler Walker's third goal in two games helped them to a 2-1 win against Crawley at the Lamex Stadium.

The 19-year-old, on-loan from Nottingham Forest, followed up his brace against Hartlepool by grabbing the opener with Jack King doubling the advantage, before James Collins' late consolation.

Stevenage boss Darren Sarll made one change with Luke Wilkinson replacing the injured Dean Wells.

Crawley were quickest out of the blocks, however, Collins firing wide from...

Stoke assistant Mark Bowen wary of Stevenage in EFL Cup tie

Assistant manager Mark Bowen insists Stoke are not taking Stevenage lightly as they prepare for their EFL Cup tie against the League Two club.

Stoke suffered a scare at this stage of the competition 12 months ago when they were taken to penalties by Luton, also of League Two, but managed to prevail in the shootout.

Stevenage have already claimed the scalp of Championship side Ipswich in the previous round and Bowen expects whatever Stoke team takes the field at Broadhall Way to show both the appropriate...
