Clint Dempsey 'absolutely back' after ailment - Sounders' Brian Schmetzer

Clint Dempsey was pleased with not only Seattle's attacking potency in its 3-0 win but also keeping the clean sheet.
LA's struggles continued as Clint Dempsey and Jordan Morris both scored to earn three points for Seattle.

Clint Dempsey "is absolutely back" after being sidelined by an irregular heartbeat, Seattle Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer has said.

U.S. forward Dempsey scored his first goal in four games for the Sounders in Sunday's 3-0 win at the LA Galaxy, his first strike since scoring four times for the national team in a pair of World Cup qualifiers last month.

The heart ailment caused Dempsey to miss the second half of the 2016 MLS season, but Schmetzer said the 34-year-old was back to peak form.

Cyle Larin brace helps Orlando past NYCFC; Sounders smash the Galaxy

NYCFC made a late push but could not overcome the 2-goal deficit created from Orlando City's Cyle Larin.

Cyle Larin scored twice to help Orlando City coach Jason Kreis notch a win against his former team, beating New York City 2-1 on Sunday to move atop the Eastern Conference standings.

Orlando City has won three straight and has a two-point lead over Columbus and the New York Red Bulls in the conference. The loss for NYCFC ended its 11-game unbeaten streak at home.

Larin scored from Scott Sutter's cross in the 31st minute and extended the lead to 2-0 with a headed goal 20 minutes later.

Philadelphia opened the scoring in the 26th minute on a perfectly timed...

Julie Stewart-Binks and Kasey Keller recap the United States' dominant victory over Honduras in World Cup Qualifying.

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Club Tijuana midfielder Paul Arriola has been added to the United States national team squad for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Panama, U.S. Soccer announced on Saturday.

The USSF also announced that Sebastian Lletget, John Brooks, Jordan Morris, and Michael Orozco have returned to their clubs, leaving the U.S. with 23 players.

"It's an unfortunate series of injuries and illnesses," coach Bruce Arena said. "That's all part of it."
