Laurent Ciman is headed to Los Angeles FC after Tuesday's trade.

Los Angeles FC acquired the Montreal Impact's Laurent Ciman in a trade for two players the new MLS club acquired in the expansion draft hours earlier.

Montreal will receive defenders Jukka Raitala and Raheem Edwards, whom LAFC selected with its final two picks in the draft from Columbus and Toronto, respectively.

Ciman, 32, was named MLS defender of the year in 2015 and helped Belgium qualify for the World Cup this year.

San Jose Earthquakes name Mikael Stahre as new head coach

The San Jose Earthquakes officially announced on Friday that Mikael Stahre would take over as manager for the 2018 season.

Stahre signed a multi-year contract, and replaces Chris Leitch, who will return to his role of technical director, which he has filled since 2015. The club announced that assistant coach Alex Covelo will return to his role as the team's director of methodology, and that assistant coach Steve Ralston will remain with the club and join Stahre's staff.

After their first playoff appearance in five years, Chris Wondolowski discusses San Jose's progress and his future in MLS.

The San Jose Earthquakes are set to name Mikael Stahre as their manager replacing Chris Leitch, sources have confirmed to ESPN FC.

The news was first reported by Swedish outlet Expressen. An announcement is expected within the next 48 hours, according to a source.

Stahre, 42, has spent the vast majority of his managerial career in his native Sweden, most recently with BK Hacken, which he led to a fourth-place finish in 2017. He had previously managed Vasby United, AIK, and IFK Goteborg in Sweden....

Juan Mata spoke about the Common Goal initiative which sees players donate one percent of their wages to charity.

U.S. international Chris Wondolowski has become the first MLS player to join Common Goal.

The 34-year-old San Jose Earthquakes captain is the 21st footballer to pledge one percent of his salary to charity as part of the project pioneered by Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata.

Wondolowski is the first American male professional player to donate after U.S. women's national team players Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan signed up in September.
