Antonio Cassano says he may have to retire amid struggle to find new club

Antonio Cassano is a former Italy international.

Antonio Cassano has said he may have to retire in the summer if he cannot find a club willing to give him a chance.

Cassano was released from his contract at Sampdoria last month, and the 34-year-old has turned down offers from both China and Serie B.

The former Italy international feels he can still make a contribution at the highest level but told Canale 5: "Nobody wants me -- what am I supposed to do?

"I'm not going to China, Greece or Argentina -- I don't want to go anywhere. I wanted to stay...

Injury-hit AC Milan were plunged further into crisis by a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Sampdoria in Serie A on Sunday.

Luis Muriel's 69th-minute penalty was enough to consign Milan to their fourth successive defeat in all competitions.

Milan were third in December but one point from their past four league matches has seen them slip to eighth, 10 points behind the Champions League places.

They are 14 points behind league leaders Juventus, who hosts Inter Milan in the Derby d'Italia later.
