Simon Cox's last-gasp winner handed Southend United a dramatic 2-1 victory over Rochdale in a match that both sides ended with 10 men at Roots Hall.

The Shrimpers were initially on top and opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Jermaine McGlashan played in Marc-Antoine Fortune, who rounded the advancing Conrad Logan before tapping home.

Dale suffered a further blow in the 22nd minute when centre-back Keith Keane was sent off for bringing down Fortune when he was clean through on goal.

Rochdale in line for £4m if West Ham sign Brentford's Scott Hogan

Scott Hogan is set to leave Brentford for West Ham United.

League One side Rochdale could bank more than £4 million from West Ham United's move for Brentford striker Scott Hogan after negotiating a 30 percent sell-on clause following the player's move to Griffin Park in 2014.

Brentford have rejected three bids from West Ham for the 24-year-old -- sources have told ESPN FC that the Championship outfit turned down West Ham's latest bid of £12m over the weekend -- but manager Dean Smith admitted in the wake of the club's FA Cup victory over Eastleigh...

With the fog rolling in across the Furness Peninsula and the hosts' biggest crowd in 27 years craving an upset to eclipse the Bluebirds' win at Bristol Rovers in the previous round, the omens were in favour of the National League side.

But Keith Hill's in-form team were a class apart for much of the afternoon...

In-form Rochdale romped to a fifth straight victory as they boosted their play-off bid with a 2-0 win at mid-table Walsall.

Ian Henderson - with his eighth league goal of the season - and Joe Thompson netted close-range finishes in each half to keep Dale fourth in the table.

Walsall should have led on 14 minutes as clever touches from first Simeon Jackson and then Florent Cuvelier found Amadou Bakayoko free in the box, but he skied a golden chance from 10 yards.
