Real Madrid's Martin Odegaard: I have a job to finish at the Bernabeu

Martin Odegaard has spent the vast majority of his Real Madrid tenure playing with the club's reserve side.
Martin Odegaard has moved to Heerenveen on an 18-month loan deal.

Norwegian youngster Martin Odegaard has told Sport Bild he "still has a job to finish" at Real Madrid.

Odegaard, who joined Madrid at the age of 16 in January 2015, has made only one substitute La Liga appearance and joined Dutch club Heerenveen on an 18-month loan deal earlier this month.

But the Norway international stressed that he wanted to gain more experience and return to Madrid for "another attempt" at breaking through.

"My time at Real is not over yet," he said. "I am looking forward to...

Alexander Isak praises Barcelona's Lionel Messi amid Real Madrid links

Diego Maradona has said that Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala are not on the same level as Lionel Messi.
AIK striker Alexander Isak
Alexander Isak has scored 10 goals in the league this season.

Reported Real Madrid target Alexander Isak has said he is a big fan of La Liga and that Barcelona star Lionel Messi is among his favourite players.

Media in both Spain and his native Sweden have reported that AIK Solna's Isak, 17, has already agreed a €10 million move to Madrid, with the deal not yet formalised due to the Bernabeu side being under a transfer ban until summer 2017.

The talented youngster is reported to have visited Madrid's Valdedebas training facility recently with his family,...

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo set for first Copa del Rey game in two years

Zinedine Zidane insists Real's overall success this season is contingent upon every player's effort.
Gabriele Marcotti is joined by Alison Bender to tackle your questions on Real Madrid, La Liga and Pep Guardiola's dilemma.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in the squad for Wednesday's Copa del Rey quarterfinal first leg at home to Celta Vigo -- marking a change in policy as he was rested by coach Zinedine Zidane for both games in the previous round of the competition.

Zidane left Ronaldo out completely from the matchday squads for both recent Copa del Rey ties against Sevilla, with the Frenchman appearing to be managing the playing time of the Portugal captain as he nears his 32nd birthday.

Carlo Ancelotti: Benitez lacked Zidane's rapport with Madrid players

Gab Marcotti sits down with Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti to discuss his transition to Germany, Arsene Wenger and more.

Carlo Ancelotti says the key to Zinedine Zidane's success at Real Madrid is his relationship with the players, telling ESPN FC that his predecessor Rafa Benitez struggled even though he "probably has more experience and more knowledge of the game."

Zidane, who worked as Ancelotti's assistant during Madrid's Champions League-winning 2013-14 campaign, was appointed head coach in January last year after Benitez was sacked after less than seven months in charge.

Zidane's only managerial experience...

Real Madrid should use Copa to rest for Liga title push, but probably won't

Gabriele Marcotti is joined by Alison Bender to tackle your questions on Real Madrid, La Liga and Pep Guardiola's dilemma.
Zinedine Zidane insists Real's overall success this season is contingent upon every player's effort.

Real Madrid's unbeaten run is over, and some fans believe that's highly beneficial for the club. The streak had almost become an entity of its own, distracting Los Blancos from their real objective: titles.

At this point, the focus must be on getting the team in the best shape possible for the final push in the spring, and if that means losing one match here or there because a couple of players are rested, so be it.

In typical Madrid fashion, the first defeat after 40 unbeaten matches generated...
