Preston secured their first Championship victory in six attempts thanks to a stoppage-time effort from Daniel Johnson in the 2-1 win at Reading.

Jermaine Beckford had given Preston a deserved lead early in the second half but Stephen Quinn equalised for Reading with four minutes left.

Johnson then struck with a low drive to give Preston all three points in the dying moments.

Neither side had won in their previous five games, which was illustrated in their mediocre mid-table positions.

Michael Hector and Lucas Piazon back at Chelsea after loan spell at Reading

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas looks back on one his most forgettable seasons in a Chelsea shirt.
Guus Hiddink discusses the importance of Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard following their win over Bournemouth.

Michael Hector and Lucas Piazon have returned to Chelsea from Reading to train with the Blues for the remainder of the season.

With Reading in mid-table in the Championship, out of playoff contention and clear of relegation danger, the pair are back at their parent club to be assessed.

However, Hector and Brazilian midfielder Piazon will not be eligible for selection in the Blues' remaining four Premier League fixtures under caretaker boss Guus Hiddink.

Hiddink will make way at the end of the season,...

Deniss Rakels' equaliser earned a point for Reading as they drew 1-1 with QPR at Loftus Road.

Grant Hall's first goal for Rangers put them ahead 10 minutes before half time, but Rakels struck just six minutes later.

Former Tottenham defender Hall, outstanding for Rangers this season, met Alejandro Faurlin's left-wing corner with a looping header that Oliver Norwood was unable to prevent dropping in at the far post.

But the Royals hit back when Andrew Taylor crossed from the left and Yann Kermogant's...

Hull's hopes of earning automatic promotion from the Sky Bet Championship remain alive after a scrappy 2-1 victory at Reading.

The struggling home side went in front early on when defender Jake Cooper nodded in powerfully from an Oliver Norwood free-kick.

But Hull were level at half-time through leading scorer Abel Hernandez and grabbed the winner 11 minutes from the end when defender Andy Robertson drilled in a low cross-shot.

Hull had sat top of the Championship in February but a run of only two wins...

Toumani Diagouraga and Chris Wood saw Leeds hit back for a 3-2 Sky Bet Championship victory and deny Brian McDermott revenge for being sacked twice by Leeds owner Massimo Cellino during a torrid 13-month reign.

Jamaican international defender Michael Hector struck for Reading in the 39th minute as Leeds' defence failed to clear a free-kick - but Diagouraga headed Leeds level soon after the break and Wood nodded the first of his two goals in the 69th minute.

Substitute Deniss Rakels drew the visitors...
