A second brace in four days from Leo Baptistao helped Rayo Vallecano to a 2-0 Primera Division victory at Levante on Saturday night.

Baptistao struck in the 12th and 33rd minutes to claim all three points for Paco Jemez's side at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.

It could have been worse for Jose Luis Mendilibar's side had Rayo striker Alberto Bueno not missed a 68th-minute penalty, but Levante were particularly toothless in front of goal and deserved nothing from this game.

Leo Baptistao added a late winner to his first-half equaliser as Rayo Vallecano came from behind to beat Athletic Bilbao 2-1 at home.

Athletic were in front in the 20th minute through Aritz Aduriz's close-range finish.

But their poor start to the season continued after Baptistao, scoring his first goals since his return to Rayo over the summer, turned the game on its head. The on-loan Atletico Madrid forward pounced on a Gorka Iraizoz error to level in the 39th minute and then notched again in the...

Five things we learned in La Liga this weekend

ESPN FC's Alejandro Moreno and Shaka Hislop discuss Barcelona's start to the La Liga season and how Messi has produced more opportunities for the team.

Each week we will take a look at five things we learned from the weekend of La Liga action. This week, Barca's fine start continues, as do concerns for Atletico Madrid.

1. Equal opportunities Barca

Luis Enrique could not really have started any better at Barcelona -- Sunday's 5-0 win at Levante means the record so far in La Liga is four games, four wins, 11 goals for, zero goals conceded. There's also a four point lead over defending champions Atletico Madrid, with Real Madrid already six points...

Villarreal produced a blistering second-half performance to battle back from two goals down and take all three points at home to Rayo Vallecano.

The Madrid side led 2-0 with under half an hour played thanks to goals by Gael Kakuta and Alberto Bueno but Javier Espinosa pulled one back for the hosts before the break and then Mateo Musacchio equalised.

Luciano Vietto then finished off off Paco Jemez's side with two late goals to seal a 4-2 win.

The win sees Villarreal move on to seven points, while Rayo...

Five things we learned in La Liga this weekend

ESPN FC's Alejandro Moreno gives his take on which Madrid team is the best, Atletico Madrid or Real Madrid.

Each week we will take a look at five things we learned from the weekend of La Liga action. This week, Madridistas have had enough of San Iker, Barca's defence is dependable and more.

1. Casillas and whistles

It was very hard to know what exactly was going through the heads of the thousands and thousands of Real Madrid fans at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu who repeatedly whistled club captain Iker Casillas throughout Saturday night's 2-1 derbi defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Sure, Madrid had again conceded...
