U.S. and LA Galaxy legend Landon Donovan is presented at Club Leon and addresses his new fans for the first time.

It was a strange weekend in Liga MX, with four 0-0 draws and only two teams remaining undefeated after three rounds of matches of the 2018 Clausura.

Here are five talking points:

Sunday's 0-0 tie in the Clasico Capitalino between Pumas and Club America wasn't a classic, but it did leave Pumas undefeated and joint top of the Liga MX.

Jesus Gallardo's versatility could earn him a place in Mexico's World Cup squad

Pumas' Jesus Gallardo has gotten off to a bright start to the Clausura.
Jesus Gallardo has had a bright start to the season for Pumas in Liga MX.

The urgency that there's no time to waste has been felt in the first two weeks of the 2018 Clausura. For some there will only be 17 regular season matches to impress, while others could end up having as many as 23 if their club reaches the Liga MX final in late May. Alejandro Moreno is skeptical of Landon Donovan's decision to join Liga MX side Leon after his return to the LA Galaxy disappointed.

Two weeks have come and gone in the nascent Clausura 2018 in Mexico, and already some captivating storylines have grabbed fans' attention. In true Liga MX fashion, there's much to be talked about both on and off the pitch. Here's what we learned after another weekend of play:

Pumas continues its comeback trail with a home win

For a moment, it seemed like the days of yore at the Estadio Olimpico when Pumas dominated an Atlas team that looked overmatched from the start of the match.

Following a horrendous...

Manneh, Henriquez: New Liga MX players you need to watch this season

Manneh's move from Columbus in MLS to Liga MX will be one of the most intriguing this Clausura.

Following a very short winter break, the 2018 Clausura tournament is set to kick off this week. Along with the many recognizable heroes and villains around the league, a number of unfamiliar faces will step onto the field this season and make their debuts in the Mexican first division.

Several Liga MX teams were quite busy with recent transfers, and although they have until Jan. 31 to register foreign players, there is already a long list of noteworthy additions.

In no specific order, here are...

David Patino named Pumas coach to replace Sergio Egea

Sergio Egea during Pumas' Liga MX game against Toluca in September 2017.
Sergio Egea has left Pumas after a poor start to the season.

Liga MX club Pumas have parted ways with temporary head coach Sergio Egea and replaced him with interim boss David Patino in the university club's second coaching change of the 2017 Apertura.

Argentine Egea was the club's sporting vice president and only took over managerial duties on Aug. 23, following head coach Francisco "Paco" Palencia's departure. The club hasn't yet announced whether Egea will still be the sporting vice president.

Palencia's side won two of its first four games in the Apertura,...
