Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino stresses the need for more competition in the squad after Spurs' 2-0 win at Newcastle.

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for PSV Eindhoven defender Santiago Arias as they continue their search for a new right-back, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Spurs have been linked with a number of right-backs as they search for a replacement for Kyle Walker, who has joined Manchester City, but have yet to bring in a new defender.

Colombia international Arias is on their list after catching the eye for both club and country.

Brighton and Hove Albion sign PSV Eindhoven midfielder Davy Propper

Davy Propper has become Brighton's record signing.

Brighton have signed midfielder Davy Propper from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.

Netherlands international Propper, 25, has signed a four-year contract and joins the Premier League club for an undisclosed fee which Brighton confirmed as a club record.

"Davy is a player with great experience of the Eredivisie with Vitesse Arnhem and PSV Eindhoven," manager Chris Hughton told the club's official website.

PSV Eindhoven have announced the signing of Marco van Ginkel from Chelsea on a season-long loan.

Van Ginkel spent the past season-and-a-half on loan at the Eredivisie club, making 28 appearances and scoring 15 goals.

The 24-year-old, who Chelsea signed from Vitesse in 2013 on a five-year contract, has also enjoyed loan spells with Stoke and AC Milan.

PSV announced the deal in a statement which read: "PSV and Chelsea have reached an agreement on a transfer of Marco van Ginkel. It is a rental for...
