A-League Report Cards: Adelaide United top the class, CCM fail

Adelaide United has claimed its first A-League title with a 3-1 victory over the Western Sydney Wanderers in the Grand Final.

ADELAIDE UNITED
Grade: A+

Perth Glory's Diego Castro beats Melbourne City duo to A-League award

Diego Castro joined Perth Glory from Getafe in the summer.

Perth Glory winger Diego Castro has won the top individual honour in Australia's A-League.

Castro earned 34 votes, one clear of Aaron Mooy and seven ahead of Bruno Fornaroli, both of Melbourne City.

The Spaniard scored 13 goals in his first A-League season after moving from Spanish club Getafe last August.

Perth manager Kenny Lowe described Castro as "humble and inclusive," adding: "He's a free spirit and he's a joy, so we'll just let him be free."

Fornaroli, who is from Uruguay, won the Golden...
