Brendon Santalab joins Perth Glory from Western Sydney Wanderers

Veteran striker Brendon Santalab has quit Western Sydney Wanderers to join A-League rivals Perth Glory, where he will reunite with former mentor Tony Popovic.

The 35-year-old Wanderers faithful was offered an administrative role only with the Red and Black next season, despite the 2017 Wanderers Medal winner wanting to extend his career.

He was snapped up by the Glory.

"Brendon is a player that brings invaluable experience, a winning mentality and a hunger for success," Glory's football director...

Perth Glory re-sign Diego Castro to one-year deal for 2019 A-League season

Diego Castro
Diego Castro signed a one-year contract to remain with Perth Glory for the upcoming A-League season.

Tony Popovic's hopes of guiding Perth Glory to next season's A-League title has received a boost after star Spaniard Diego Castro decided to re-sign for another year.

Castro's future was up in the air following the axing of coach Kenny Lowe last month, but the 35-year-old has decided to stay at Glory for a fourth straight season.

And unlike last year, Castro will return to Perth in time for a full preseason, giving him the best chance to start the campaign with a bang.

Castro is currently back in...

Perth Glory can 'be successful in the first year' under Tony Popovic

The ESPN panel in London are skeptical of Australia ahead of the World Cup with Bert van Marwijk's defensive mindset and an aging squad.

New Perth Glory coach Tony Popovic has set himself the goal of leading the club to a period of sustained success, and he says there's no reason why they can't give the title a shake next season.

"We want to win things," Popovic said.

"We're not going to put a time frame on when that will happen. But we want to be a team that can be challenging for honours in year one, and why not?

"I don't think the team in the first year will be exactly what I want the team to be.

"But I'm not going to make an...

Tony Popovic confirmed as Perth Glory new manager

Perth Glory have made an enormous statement of intent by signing Tony Popovic as coach for next A-League season.

Replacing the sacked Kenny Lowe, Popovic has been out of a job since his ill-fated stint at Turkish side Karabukspor ended in December after just 10 weeks.

The 44-year-old had quit his post at Western Sydney Wanderers, who he had coached since their inception, on the eve of last season to take up the European opportunity.

Popovic will be officially unveiled at the Glory's awards night...

Brisbane Roar recruit Adam Taggart denies Perth Glory's 'liar' claims

Riley McGree's scorpion kick attempt stuns Melbourne City on route to a 2-1 win for the Newcastle Jets.

Adam Taggart has denied suggestions he kept Perth Glory in the dark about his move to A-League rivals Brisbane Roar.

In a statement released on his behalf by Professional Footballers Australia, Taggart said he had spoken with Glory owner Tony Sage, who labelled him a "liar" for turning his back on his hometown team in a furious Facebook rant.

Sage suggested Perth only found out about Taggart's departure when it was announced by the Roar on Tuesday morning, but the 24-year-old said club management...
