Kenny Lowe reckons 2016 Perth Glory side is good enough for A-League glory

Kenny Lowe believes Perth Glory are good enough to challenge for A-League honours this season.

Kenny Lowe believes he has the squad to take Perth to their maiden A-League title, in this, the league's 12th season.

Glory coach Lowe is full of belief that the mesh of foreign stars Diego Castro and Andy Keogh with home-grown Socceroos has created a "perfect storm" in the west.

Glory swept into the 2015-16 finals following a late-season resurgence led by Spanish Johnny Warren Medallist Castro (13 goals, four assists) and Irish striker Keogh (10 goals in 15 games).

Though they were knocked out...

Lowe wants Josh Risdon to use A-League as springboard to Europe

Josh Risdon
Right-back Josh Risdon enjoyed a stellar year for Perth Glory last season.

Perth Glory coach Kenny Lowe knows Josh Risdon, is a super player -- but he doesn't want the star defender to be at the A-League club next season.

Risdon has established himself as one of the Glory's best players in recent seasons, and he's a strong chance to be announced as the club's new captain.

The 24-year-old is also starting to make a splash on the international stage, featuring three times for the Socceroos.

Risdon considered a move to Europe at the end of last season, before deciding to...

Perth Glory's Adam Taggart eyes goals to get back into Postecoglou's plans

Australia's Adam Taggart
Adam Taggart is hoping to find form at Perth Glory to inch his way back into the Australian national team.

Australia striker Adam Taggart knows he needs to produce the goods back home in Perth to jump start his international career.

Taggart burst onto the Socceroos scene in 2014, playing in matches against the Netherlands and Spain at the World Cup in Brazil.

His move to English Championship side Fulham on a three-year deal was meant to take Taggart's game to a new level.

Instead, a string of injuries brought his career to a grinding halt, with Taggart eventually making the tough decision to cut short...

Josh Risdon defends his decision to stay with Perth in the A-League

Josh Risdon
Josh Risdon was called up to the Australia squad in place of the injured Bailey Wright.

Perth Glory defender Josh Risdon doesn't regret his decision to stay in the A-League, despite his initial snub for the Socceroos' looming World Cup qualifiers.

Risdon was initially overlooked for Thursday night's clash with Iraq in Perth and next week's showdown with the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi.

But the 24-year-old was included in Ange Postecoglou's 23-man squad on Sunday after England-based defender Bailey Wright was ruled out due to a toe injury.

Risdon's stocks rose dramatically following...

Josh Risdon called up to the Socceroos as Bailey Wright's injury replacement

Andy Keogh & Josh Risdon
Perth Glory's Josh Risdon, right, has been called into the Australia squad to face Iraq and the U.A.E.

A toe injury has forced defender Bailey Wright out of the Socceroos squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.

Coach Ange Postecoglou ruled England-based Wright out on Sunday, calling in Perth Glory's Josh Risdon to replace him.

"Bailey has a minor injury that he has been nursing and although he played for Preston overnight we thought it better for him to stay in the U.K.," Postecoglou said.

"We have two tough matches in quick succession and will need everyone...
