FFA Cup: Fowler to make coaching debut vs. Sydney FC

New Melbourne City coach Erick Mombaerts says he will bring an attractive style of play to the club.

The first competitive match of Robbie Fowler's Brisbane Roar reign will be an FFA Cup clash away at A-League champions Sydney FC.

The Liverpool legend, who is embarking on the first full-time head coaching role of his storied career, will take the Roar to face Steve Corica's Sky Blues in a round-of-32 clash after the pair were drawn together on Wednesday.

It will be Fowler's first big challenge at the helm of the new-look Roar who have shipped out 16 players following their disastrous 2018-19 A-League...

A key part of the Glory's 2018-19 A-League premiership after signing from Croatian club Rijeka last August, Davidson made 28 appearances last season, scoring two goals and notching five assists.

It's understood the interest from Ulsan developed quickly, with an offer accepted within a week of the K-League team approaching the Glory.

Spiranovic credits Popovic for Socceroos recall

Matthew Spiranovic
Matthew Spiranovic will be looking to add to his 35 caps when the Socceroos take on South Korea on Friday.

Experienced defender Matthew Spiranovic believes his first Socceroos call-up in two years justifies his decision to reunite with Tony Popovic at Perth Glory.

The 30-year-old played under Popovic at the Western Sydney Wanderers from 2013-15 before an injury-plagued stint in China which led to him losing his place in the national team.

Lured to Perth by his former coach last June, Spiranovic first regained his fitness and then became a mainstay in the Glory's dominant A-League Premiers Plate-winning...
