Palmeiras are hoping that CONMEBOL act swiftly and punish Uruguayan outfit Penarol following a brawl that marred their 3-2 come-from-behind triumph in Montevideo in the Copa Libertadores.

Brazil side Palmeiras trailed 2-0 at half-time but hit back for a 3-2 triumph on Wednesday that put them top of Group 5 with 10 points, while the hosts remained at the foot of the standings with just three points.

Barcelona have confirmed the signing of teenage defender Santiago Bueno from CA Penarol.

Bueno, 18, has signed a contract with Barca until 2019 and will join up with Barca B upon the conclusion of the ongoing South American Youth Championship in Ecuador, where he is representing Uruguay.

Uruguayan football suspended after supporter's death

The Uruguayan Football Association postponed all matches in the country this weekend following the death of a Penarol fan.

Hernan Fioritto was shot on Sept. 28, reportedly by supporters of rival club Nacional, while celebrating Penarol's 125th anniversary in Santa Lucia.

He died on Friday, and the national federation suspended all games as a sign of mourning.

Diego Forlan confirms three-month deal with Mumbai City

Diego Forlan has said he will play for Mumbai City.

Diego Forlan has said that he will play for Mumbai City on a three-month deal.

The 37-year-old retired Uruguay international returned to his boyhood club Penarol for the 2015-16 season, helping them to the Apertura title in the Uruguay first division by scoring eight goals in 31 appearances before announcing he would not return.

The 2010 Golden Ball winner for best player at the 2010 World Cup and the two-time Pichichi trophy winner said he bought into the Indian Super League project.
