Palermo brought an end to Sassuolo's rise up the Serie A standings and furthered their own with a dramatic 2-1 win at the Stadio Renzo Barbera where the Neroverdi finished with nine men.

Luca Rigoni's goal in the third minute gave Palermo the lead, but even though Sassuolo lost their goalkeeper Andrea Consigli to a red card, they levelled late on through substitute Leonardo Pavoletti.

There was even more drama to come, though, as Andrea Belotti restored Palermo's advantage deep in stoppage time...

Struggling Torino twice fought back to force a 2-2 draw at home to Palermo but the Stadio Olimpico club remain without a victory in their last seven Serie A games.

Josef Martinez's first goal in Granata colours cancelled out Luca Rigoni's opener before Kamil Glik responded to a clever finish from Paulo Dybala, who has now scored for Palermo in each of his last five appearances.

The point does little to soothe the pain still felt by Torino in the wake of their cruel derby defeat to Juventus, but it...

Edgar Barreto created his team's first goal and scored the second before being sent off as Palermo secured a 2-1 home victory over 10-man Parma on Sunday.

Barreto set up Paulo Dybala for the hosts' opener in the 37th minute, only for Raffaele Palladino of bottom side Parma to equalise shortly after.

Barretto netted the winner in the 73rd minute with a free-kick that beat Parma goalkeeper Alessandro Iacobucci and was almost certainly intended as a cross.

Parma's hopes of pulling level were hindered after...

Antonio Conte hopes Palermo forward Paulo Dybala will opt to play for Italy

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini claimed that 20-year-old Argentine forward Paulo Dybala will soon be a better player than Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Italy coach Antonio Conte has said he would like to persuade Palermo forward Paulo Dybala to play for Italy rather than opting for either Argentina or Poland.

Dybala, 21, was born in Argentina and has a Polish grandfather and an Italian grandmother.

That means he can choose from those three nations when he comes to make his decision, and he told Italy's RAI television on Wednesday: "I dream of playing for Argentina -- but if Conte calls me, I'll think about it."

And the Italy coach, speaking during...

Genoa missed the chance to move up to fourth in the Serie A standings when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Palermo on Monday night.

Paulo Dybala put the Sicilians in front in the seventh minute and that goal was cancelled out by Andrea Bertolacci after half an hour.

Both sides had excellent chances to win it with more coming for Palermo, but the best was wasted by the hosts, who nevertheless climbed to fifth, a point behind city rivals Sampdoria.

Genoa were on the back foot after seven minutes when...
