Preseason tournament in Dallas cancelled

Six teams have been forced to alter their preseason plans after the Texas tournament they were set to compete in was cancelled.

Premier League club Swanswa were due to feature in a six-team tournament in Dallas from July 11-19 alongside Mexico's Chivas Guadalajara and Pachuca, Spain's Malaga, France's Lyon and Morocco's Raja Casablanca.

Swansea held a training camp in Chicago last summer and played friendlies against Chivas and Minnesota United, but manager Garry Monk said earlier this month that...

Ronaldinho's Queretaro to face Santos Laguna in Liga MX final

Queretaro's Jonathan Bornstein celebrates scoring his team's second goal against Pachuca.

Ronaldinho was left on the bench as his Queretaro team marched to the Liga MX Clausura final, where it will meet Santos Laguna, after both overcame their semifinals on Sunday.

Queretaro won 2-0 against Pachuca to tie 2-2 on aggregate and advance to its first ever final due to its higher finishing position in the regular season table, while Santos Laguna defeated Chivas 3-0 in a dominant display, after a 0-0 first leg last Thursday.

The first leg of the final is scheduled to be played on Thursday,...

Diego Alonso guiding Pachuca on surprising Liga MX title run

Diego Alonso has taken Pachuca to within two games of the Liga MX championship.

Pachuca is one of the oldest and most storied clubs in Liga MX, but it has learned the hard way.

With a playoff system that rewards teams that make the most of momentum at the right time, Liga MX's championship gives all eight teams in the liguilla a solid shot at lifting the final trophy at the end. Now that the teams are down to the final four, Pachuca's odds for a title are even better, especially since the squad managed to take a 2-0 aggregate lead over Queretaro in the opening leg of their...

Ten-man Queretaro suffer as Pachuca take advantage into second leg

Ronaldinho reacts as Queretaro went down in the first leg.

Even missing two young stars, Pachuca managed to impose their will on the opening leg of the Liga MX semifinal series with Queretaro, scoring twice in Hidalgo to take that aggregate advantage into the deciding match on Sunday, May 24.

Queretaro and their big star, Ronaldinho, were stifled not only by the opposing goals, but also by a red card that caused coach Victor Manuel Vucetich to pull the Brazilian star in favor of a more conditioned player. The change was aimed to combat the advantage held...

Marchesin's goalkeeping magic leading Santos in Liguilla

Brazilian star Ronaldinho launches a counterattack with this extraordinary piece of skill in Queretaro's 2-2 Liga MX Torneo Clausura quarterfinal against Veracruz.

With the top four seeds now gone from the postseason, the race for the 2015 Clausura title is now truly up for grabs for the four remaining clubs in the competition.

Without a few key players, it will be interesting to see how Pachuca or Queretaro will adjust when Los Tuzos host Los Gallos Blancos during the first leg at the Estadio Hidalgo on Thursday.

Later on that night in Torreon, a confident Santos Laguna will host a Chivas side that is fresh off a 4-1 thrashing of Atlas on Sunday. Considering...
