Former Osasuna executive Angel Vizcay was sentenced to eight years and eight months in prison for match-fixing on Friday.

Vizcay was found guilty of sporting fraud, misappropriation and falsifying documents and accounts in what is Spain's first ruling of sentencing in a match-fixing case.

La Liga clubs reject coronavirus testing in favour of vulnerable groups

Real Valladolid, Osasuna and Eibar are among Spain's top-flight clubs that have turned down coronavirus tests provided by La Liga, with some donating them to vulnerable groups with symptoms.

La Liga hired a private medical service to include 500 coronavirus tests before the government called a state of emergency in the country on Saturday.

Former Osasuna executive Angel Vizcay has said his club paid hundreds of thousands of euros to La Liga clubs between 2012 and 2014 to help the club avoid relegation.

Vizcay testified on Tuesday in a court in Pamplona, Spain, as part of a match-fixing case in which 11 people, including six former Osasuna executives and three ex-Betis players, face charges of sporting fraud, misappropriation and falsifying documents and accounts.
