Dom Dwyer staying in MLS after Sporting KC rejects Olympiakos offer

Dom Dwyer and Sporting Kansas City made easy work of the struggling Sounders with a dominant home win.

Sporting Kansas City has rejected a bid from Olympiakos for striker Dom Dwyer, coach Peter Vermes said.

Dwyer, 25, scored twice on Sunday to bring his goal tally on the seaon to 10 through 22 games.

Olympiakos offered about $3 million for Dwyer, Goal.com reported, but Vermes told the Kansas City Star on Monday that the club had turned down the Greek champions.

Olympiakos name Victor Sanchez as new coach

Victor Sanchez is the new man in charge at Olympiakos.

Olympiakos have named Victor Sanchez as their new coach following the resignation of Marco Silva.

The Greek club announced on Thursday that Silva, who led Olympiakos to a 43rd Super League title last season, had stepped down due to "personal reasons" after one year in charge.

Olympiakos said they had accepted the 38-year-old Portuguese's resignation and soon after announced Sanchez as their new boss.

Police arrest suspects in connection with Alan Pulido kidnapping

CIUDAD VICTORIA, Mexico -- Police arrested a second suspect in the kidnapping of Mexico international Alan Pulido, after wounding the man in a gun battle, the Tamaulipas state prosecutor said on Tuesday.
