Gennaro Gattuso started his coaching career at Swiss side Sion.

Gennaro Gattuso has resigned from his position as coach of Greek club OFI Crete for the second time, although this time he says there will be no going back.

Gennaro Gattuso will manage OFI next season.

ATHENS, Greece -- Greek club OFI have signed former Italian star Gennaro Gattuso as their new coach.

The club based on the island of Crete said in a statement on Thursday they have reached a two-year deal with the 36-year-old former AC Milan and Rangers midfielder.

Gattuso made 73 appearances for Italy and later coached at Swiss club Sion and Palermo.

OFI finished in sixth place this season in Greece's 18-team league, won by Olympiakos.
