Norwich came from behind against lower-league opposition for the second round running to progress in the Carabao Cup with a 4-1 win over Charlton.

The Canaries followed up their 3-2 victory over Swindon in the first round with another Carrow Road success against the League One Addicks.

The visitors stunned their Championship hosts by taking the lead after just five minutes, a slick move ending with Tarique Fosu playing in Lee Novak, who finished emphatically.

Conor Hourihane netted a hat-trick as Aston Villa answered their critics in style with a scintillating 4-2 home triumph over Norwich.

Keinan Davis made a sparkling first-team debut up front, and was involved in Villa's two first-half goals - scored by Hourihane and Andre Green.

The Canaries hit back with a 60th-minute strike from Josh Murphy, but Hourihane bagged his second eight minutes later and, although Norwich stormed back through Nelson Oliveira's strike on 79 minutes, Hourihane made sure of...

Nelson Oliveira put his spat with new boss Daniel Farke firmly behind him by helping Norwich to a 2-0 win over QPR, their first Sky Bet Championship success of the season.

The Portuguese striker was dropped from the squad for City's recent Carabao Cup tie as punishment for his angry goal celebrations in front of Farke at Fulham on the opening day, after he had come off the bench to help the visitors secure a point.

But he returned to the fold after apologising for his antics - and marked his first...

Lewis Grabban came back to haunt his former club as Sunderland came away from Norwich with three points from an excellent 3-1 win.

The on-loan Bournemouth striker scored twice either side of a superb effort from Aiden McGeady to help the visitors to their first Championship success of the season.

Grabban also scored a late own goal to provide some consolation for Norwich, who deserved better, but it was Simon Grayson's side who ended up with a win to go with their opening-day draw,

Nowich midfielder Alex Pritchard ruled out at least three months

Tottenham fans will hope to see big things from England youth international Alex Pritchard in 2015-16.
Alex Pritchard will be sidelined until November.

Norwich midfielder Alex Pritchard needs surgery on his injured ankle and will be out for a minimum of three months, the Championship club have announced.

Pritchard, 24, missed the Canaries' opening two games after he was carried off on a stretcher during a friendly win at Cambridge last month, and boss Daniel Farke confirmed the club's worst fears.

"It's bad news for Alex Pritchard," Farke told Norwich's official website. "He needs an operation so we will have to do without him for at least 12 weeks.
