Newcastle United flop Xisco finds redemption in Thailand

Hulk and Oscar appear to be coming into their own in the CSL as they continue their fine form for Shanghai SIPG.
Jason Dasey and Stanely Bernard discuss Thailand's future after winning their record fifth AFF Cup.
At a young age, Charyl Chappuis' passion for football was ignited. Delve into the story of how his love for the game has evolved.

Xisco Jimenez has been at his new Asian club for less than nine months, but he's already achieved more than during a miserable five years in England. One goal in 11 Newcastle United appearances, across three different competitions between 2008 and 2013, saw the Spaniard regularly shipped out on-loan and named on more than one worst-ever list.

His £5.7 million signing at St James' Park was seen as a graphic example of the excesses of the dysfunctional era when Dennis Wise was the club's executive...

Newcastle made the long trek to Brighton on Tuesday evening for a game between the top two teams in the Championship.

Newcastle troll Aston Villa's Henri Lansbury on Twitter after own goal

Newcastle comfortably saw off Aston Villa to go top of the Championship on Monday night, cruising to a straightforward 2-0 victory at St James' Park.

Villa were a massive 30 points behind their opponents going into the fixture, with an own goal from new signing Henri Lansbury helping to make sure his side's dismal winless run was duly extended to nine games by the end of the night.

Rather unsportingly, Newcastle's official Twitter account chose to troll Lansbury after the match by posting a photo...

Newcastle fan's ingenious way to get round travel costs for FA Cup clash

Facing a 500-mile round trip to watch his side play Oxford United in the fourth round of the FA Cup, one intrepid Newcastle supporter took drastic action in a bid to cut the cost of his journey.

After seeking the advice of a friend, thrifty Toon fan Johnny Haywood decided against paying an exorbitant amount for a single train ticket and instead purchased 56 separate "split" tickets to cover his gruelling trek.

Split tickets -- i.e, separate tickets for each leg of the journey -- are often cheaper...

David Ginola at 50: Five of his best goals for Tottenham and Newcastle

David Ginola
Ginola celebrates his wonder goal against Barnsley.

David Ginola spent seven memorable years in English football after joining Newcastle United from Paris Saint-Germain in 1995. The maverick France winger is best remembered for stunning goals and silky footwork for Newcastle and Tottenham, but he also had spells at Aston Villa and Everton.

There are so many classic Ginola goals it is hard to pick out a definitive top five but, on his 50th birthday, we had a go.

Brighton edge Rafa Benitez and Newcastle in Prem promotion race

Sam Baldock was on target as Brighton triumphed over QPR.
Newcastle were widely tipped to win the Championship but Brighton are at the summit at the halfway point.

The Championship has reached its halfway stage, so we assess the main contenders for promotion to the Premier League ...

1. Brighton

Chris Hughton's leaders have built upon their excellent 2015-16 season, when they looked good for automatic promotion but ran out of steam. Shrewdly, they chose to add a coat of paint in the summer rather than totally redecorating, bringing in ballast in the form of centre-back Shane Duffy and extra goals (15 so far) from Glenn Murray. Along with the likes of Anthony...
