Columbus will play Toronto FC in the Eastern Conference Final after NYCFC failed to score the third goal they needed.
With Andrea Pirlo set to retire at the end of the year, Ale Moreno feels MLS need to bring in productive players.

Italy legend Andrea Pirlo thanked New York City FC and its fans on Monday, a day after playing in his final game before retirement.

The 38-year-old had said last month that he intended to retire at the end of the Major League Soccer season and posted a farewell message on social media after his side lost to Columbus Crew SC in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Columbus eliminates NYCFC; Toronto beats NYRB; Houston shocks Portland

Columbus Crew SC took a giant step toward the Eastern Conference Final, routing NYCFC at home amid possible relocation.

New York City FC coach Patrick Vieira has urged his players to believe they can recover from a 4-1 Eastern Conference semifinal deficit against Columbus Crew.

No Major League Soccer side has bounced back from a three-goal deficit to progress, but Vieira said his team could become the first to do so in the second leg on Sunday.

Speaking to the official MLS website, the former Arsenal midfielder said: "There's always a first time. It may be Sunday, it may be next year.

"This is a difficult task, there's...

Vieira says wasteful NYCFC 'paid the price' in loss to Columbus Crew

Columbus Crew SC took a giant step toward the Eastern Conference Final, routing NYCFC at home amid possible relocation.

New York City FC manager Patrick Vieira admitted his team "paid the price" for its wastefulness in front of goal in a 4-1 first leg loss to Columbus Crew SC in MLS' Eastern Conference semifinals.

Goals from Ola Kamara, Artur, Justin Meram and Harrison Afful gave the host side the upper hand ahead of Sunday's second leg in New York, while David Villa's late strike gave his team an away goal that could make a difference in deciding the winner of the tie.

But it could have been a much different outcome...
