Eredivisie playoff between Roda and MVV interrupted by crowd trouble

Crowd trouble interrupted the game between Roda and MVV.

The second-half of the the Eredivisie promotion-relegation playoff game between Roda and MVV was delayed by crowd trouble on Thursday.

Fans entered the pitch at De Geusselt after a goalless first half and weapons were thrown into the stands as fans of both sides clashed.

The game was delayed by around 30 minutes before referee Pol van Boekel was able to bring the players back out.

The game finished 0-0 but sanctions are expected before Sunday's second leg.

Arsenal's Kelechi Nwakali joins MVV Maastricht on loan for season

Kelechi Nwakali joined Arsenal in the summer.

Arsenal have loaned teenager Kelechi Nwakali to MVV Maastricht for the rest of the season.

Nwakali, 18, signed a five-year deal with the Gunners in the summer, joining from the Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria.

However, Arsenal have opted to temporarily ship out the midfielder, who has been granted a Dutch work permit, in order to gain some regular first-team football.

Nwakali will link up with fellow Gunner Stefan O'Connor, who is also out on loan at the Eerste Divisie side.

Stefan O'Connor will spend the season on loan with Maastricht.

Arsenal have sent academy centre-backs Julio Pleguezuelo and Stefan O'Connor out on loan for the upcoming season to give them regular first-team experience.

The London club said the 19-year-old Pleguezuelo, who captained the Arsenal under-21s last season, will join Spanish second-division club Mallorca while O'Connor will play for Dutch club Maastricht.

Pleguezuelo grew up on Mallorca, while O'Connor is a graduate of Arsenal's Hale End academy. The 19-year-old O'Connor made his only first-team appearance...
