Jose Mourinho bemoans referee Michael Oliver's decision to not award Man United a penalty in their loss to Man City.

Former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has said that his successor at Old Trafford Jose Mourinho coaches "far more boring football" than the Dutch manager was accused of playing when he managed the club.

Van Gaal, 66, managed United for two seasons from 2014-16, winning the FA Cup in his final match at the helm. However, his teams never challenged for the Premier League title, while failing to guide them to the Champions League in his second season.

MANCHESTER -- Ander Herrera has said he was amazed by Michael Oliver's decision not to award Manchester United a penalty in the derby defeat to Manchester City.

Herrera went down in the penalty area in the second-half at Old Trafford after a challenge from Nicolas Otamendi but, instead of pointing to the spot, Oliver booked the midfielder for diving.
