An early goal proved enough for Bury to win 1-0 at home to promotion rivals Luton and claim a fourth straight victory.

The Shakers were excellent in the first half and led through a ninth-minute header by Tom Soares.

Luton improved after the break, though, and almost equalised but Bury held on to go level with the Hatters in the League Two play-off places.

The Shakers made a fine start with Nathan Cameron heading over from Chris Hussey's corner before Danny Mayor tested visiting goalkeeper Elliot Justham.

Luton gained ground on the top three as Jayden Stockley and Luke Guttridge were on target in a comfortable 2-0 win over Accrington.

The visitors had enjoyed the better of the first half and had a glorious chance in the opening few moments as Terry Gornell beat the offside trap but Hatters goalkeeper Elliot Justham narrowed the angle to save, while Fraser Franks cleared Josh Windass' rebound away as it threatened to creep in.

Gornell then headed wide as Luton created very little, Elliot Lee firing a...

An injury-time winner from substitute David Connolly saw AFC Wimbledon defeat Luton 3-2 at Kingsmeadow.

It looked like the Hatters would earn a point after coming back from 2-0 down, only for Connolly to steal victory with his 93rd-minute strike.

Striker Adebayo Akinfenwa should have put the Dons ahead after 13 minutes when, completely unmarked, he fired against a post. The woodwork also denied Sean Rigg midway through the first half.

The hosts had the lead in the 27th minute when Akinfenwa's effort...

Rakish Bingham was the hero as his first-half strike made sure struggling Mansfield maintained their record of never losing at home to Luton in the league with a crucial 1-0 win.

It was a first loss in 11 for the high-flying Hatters as Mansfield leapfrogged three clubs into 18th place in League Two.

Bingham, recently returned from a loan spell at Hartlepool, was only on the field as a substitute after Reggie Lambe limped off after 19 minutes.

A tight first half burst into life in the 32nd minute. Luton...

Striker Mark Cullen scored his 12th goal of the season as 10-man Luton saw off Carlisle 1-0 at Kenilworth Road.

Cullen took Matt Robinson's astute pass in his stride after 39 minutes before drilling a left-foot shot past goalkeeper Dan Hanford.

Victory was well deserved for Town as they had the better chances early on. Scott Griffiths dragged an effort wide, while Cullen saw another shot deflected over after Hanford fumbled.

Luton's leading marksman then put his side in front, and in the second period,...
