Zlatan Ibrahimovic hat trick carries Man United; Tottenham lose first leg

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's hat trick gave Manchester United a 3-0 win against St Etienne in a Europa League round of 32 first-leg clash at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Ibrahimovic opened the scoring in unusual circumstances after 15 minutes when his free kick struck the St Etienne wall and deflected towards goal leaving St Etienne goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier wrong-footed and stranded before crawling over the line.

He added an important second in the 74th minute as substitute Marcus Rashford squared from...

Ludogorets' Jody Lukoki: Paris Saint-Germain are not playing like a team

Ludogorets Razgrad's Jody Lukoki has revealed his surprise at how easy it was to play against Paris Saint-Germain in the Bulgarians' 2-2 Champions League draw on Tuesday.

PSG needed a win against Georgi Dermendzhiev's men but their visitors surprised them by twice taking the lead through Virgil Misidjan and Wanderson at Parc des Princes.

It took a spectacular equaliser from Edinson Cavani and a scrappy late leveller from Angel Di Maria to claim a point but that was not enough for PSG to stop Arsenal...

Paris Saint-Germain missed out on the chance to top Champions League Group A as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Ludogorets.

A win would have seen PSG through as group winners, but they twice fell behind to their Bulgarian opponents and, with Arsenal beating Basle 4-1, had to settle for second place.

Virgil Misidjan gave Ludogorets a surprise early lead but the hosts' superiority looked to be telling when Edinson Cavani levelled with his 20th goal of the season.

However, Wanderson restored the visitors'...

Ludogorets' and Basel's battle to get out of the Champions League basement and into the Europa League will go to the sixth matchday after the teams could not be separated in Bulgaria.

The Swiss champions remain joint bottom with Ludogorets in Group A having only managed to take a single point -- against the same opposition, in September -- in this edition of the group stages.

This stalemate in Razgrad, which really ought to have swung in the visitors' favour given the industry of Luca Zuffi and Matias...

Mesut Ozil nets late winner as Arsenal come from behind to win at Ludogorets

Three points from Arsenal's 3-2 win over Ludogorets in the Champions League:

1. Arsenal respond to shocking start

Arsenal just can't help digging themselves into a hole.

Down 2-0 to Ludogorets after just 15 minutes, Arsene Wenger's team had to stage a spirited fightback that was finished off by Mesut Ozil in spectacular fashion with an 88th-minute winner.

It was a victory that was much tougher than it should have been and came after the Gunners showed some of the old bad habits many thought they...
