Paris Saint-Germain went down early, but Edinson Cavani notched a brace to defeat a resilient Ludogorets Razgrad side.

Edinson Cavani scored twice as Paris St Germain secured their first win of this season's Champions League with a 3-1 victory against Ludogorets.

Unai Emery's men, who had drawn their opening group game with Arsenal and headed to Bulgaria on the back of a 2-0 Ligue 1 defeat to Toulouse, fell behind to Natanael's 15th-minute goal.

But they fought back, with Blaise Matuidi equalising before a brace from Cavani secured the victory that keeps them level with Arsenal in Group A on four points.

Basel fought back to secure a 1-1 draw in their Champions League Group A opener against Ludogorets at St Jakob-Park.

Jonathan Cafu fired the Bulgarians ahead on the stroke of half-time.

However, Basel, who had won eight games from eight so far this season and are already nine points clear of nearest rivals Young Boys in the Swiss top flight, produced a strong second-half showing and were rewarded with 10 minutes left when Renato Steffen hooked the ball in at the far post.
