Younousse Sankhare struck a late winner against his former club to secure Lille a 1-0 home win against Dijon.

Midfielder Sankhare fired home in the 87th minute for Lille, who lost at Caen in their opening-day league clash, and sent Dijon to a second straight defeat.

Few chances were created by either side in a goalless first half. Dijon striker Julio Tavares' header was comfortably saved and at the other end Sankhare's effort did little to trouble visiting goalkeeper Baptiste Reynet.

Turkey international Erdinc levelled following a good team move 11 minutes into the second half but Lopes grabbed his second after a good ball from Eder to put Lille back in front 14 minutes later.

Europa: West Ham win but Aberdeen, Hertha Berlin and Lille crash out

Aberdeen's Graeme Shinnie scores a ridiculous own goal after his keeper fails to handle the back pass.
A Cheikhou Kouyate helped West Ham advance to the Europa League playoff round.
A Cheikhou Kouyate helped West Ham advance to the Europa League playoff round.

West Ham avoided a false start at the London Stadium with a 3-0 Europa League qualifying win over Slovenian minnows NK Domzale on Thursday.

Cheikhou Kouyate scored twice and new signing Sofiane Feghouli opened his account as the Hammers, who left Upton Park at the end of last season, secured a 4-2 aggregate win to reach the final playoff round before the group stage.

The venue formerly known as the Olympic Stadium welcomed its new tenants and West Ham could scarcely have wished for more obliging...

Sofiane Boufal has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs.

Lille president Michel Seydoux has confirmed that attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal can leave the club this month if a suitable offer comes in.

Boufal, 22, has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham this summer despite undergoing knee surgery in May

"Normally Sofiane Boufal has permission to leave," Seydoux told a news conference on Tuesday. "In theory, there won't be any more movement.

"The first thing with Sofiane is that he's doing well. His operation went extremely well and...

West Ham lose Europa League opener in Slovenia; Hertha Berlin win

Andy Carroll and West Ham could not avoid defeat to Domzale in Slovenia on Thursday.

West Ham endured a chastening 2-1 defeat to minnows NK Domzale in the first leg of their Europa League third-round qualifier in Slovania on Thursday.

Even with England striker Andy Carroll at the spearhead of a strong lineup, the Premier League side came off second-best against a club making their first appearance in Europe.

Havard Nordtveit handled the ball 11 minutes into his Hammers debut and Matic Crnic scored the resulting penalty to put the hosts ahead.
