CAS rejects Adrien Silva's request to join Leicester City during appeal process

Adrien Silva is still waiting for a judgment on whether he can join Leicester City.

Adrien Silva's application to register for Leicester on a provisional basis was rejected by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The midfielder filed his own personal appeal to CAS after the paperwork for his £22 million move from Sporting Lisbon arrived 14 seconds after the summer deadline.

CAS is yet to make a final decision on Silva's appeal, but rejected his request to be registered at Leicester while he waits.

The paperwork for Adrien Silva's move from Sporting came through 14 seconds late.

Leicester midfielder Adrien Silva has said he is "disgusted" by the situation that has left him in limbo.

Portugal international Silva cannot play for Leicester until January after the paperwork for his £22 million move from Sporting Lisbon was filed 14 seconds after the August transfer deadline.

A Leicester appeal was rejected by FIFA, leaving Silva facing four months out of action and he told Portuguese public broadcaster RTP: "I had a lot of desire to talk about the injustice.

Leicester vice-chairman denies King Power tax claims as case proceeds

Leicester City vice-chairman Aiyawatt Shrivaddhanaprabha has "categorically denied" allegations that King Power International, which owns the club, failed to pay £322 million in taxes.

The case centres on the monopoly on duty free airport shops in Thailand that was granted to King Power in 2006.

A lawsuit brought against the company alleges that it paid only a three percent slice of duty-free revenues to the government when the amount required was 15 percent.
