Morocco's Manuel da Costa signs for Istanbul Basaksehir

Morocco international Manuel da Costa has returned to Turkish football, signing for Istanbul Basaksehir after ending his stay with Olympiakos.

The versatile defender has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Super Lig side, as confirmed on Basaksehir's official website.

Da Costa previously spent two seasons with Sivasspor, and will be looking to help his new club reach the playoff round of Champions League qualification, after being drawn against Club Brugge in the third qualifying round.

Gael Clichy is set to join Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir on a free transfer from Man City.

Gael Clichy is finalising a move to join Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir, with the former Man City and Arsenal player expected to undergo a medical before signing a new contract on Friday.

Clichy, 31, was not offered a new deal at the Etihad at the end of the 2016-17 season, as Pep Guardiola began a squad overhaul ahead of his second season in charge at Man City.

Cameroon's Aurelien Chedjou slams fake transfer news

Cameroon defender Aurelien Chedjou has taken a local media source to task on Twitter after they incorrectly reported that he'd joined Istanbul Basaksehir from Galatasaray.

Writing on his @AurelienChedjou handle, the 31-year-old completely repudiated an article published by local source CamFoot, who had shared a transfer story doing the rounds in the Turkish media that revealed the defender was on the move.

Basaksehir have impressed in the Turkish league this season.

Istanbul Basaksehir president Goksel Gumusdag has apologised after an altercation between some of the club's players and a reporter ended up in a brawl.

Several Basaksehir players were caught on camera fighting with A Spor journalist Selman Kutlu and cameraman Ahmet Caglar Yildirim on Saturday following Basaksehir's 3-3 draw with Rizesepor in the Turkish Super League.
