Tony Andreu's second-half penalty took Dundee United level on points with Ladbrokes Championship leaders Hibernian after a 1-0 win but Tannadice keeper Cammy Bell was also a spot-kick hero.

After a dull first half, home number one Bell, who made three first-half penalty saves to help the Taysiders beat Dunfermline Athletic in September, pushed away Martin Boyle's spot-kick in the 55th minute.

The save became all the more significant when Hibs defender Liam Fontaine upended substitute Simon Murray in...

Hibernian's third-straight Championship draw was enough to see them move top of the table as they were held to a goalless stalemate by Raith at Stark's Park.

Hibs started to enjoy the majority of possession early on as John McGinn's near-post header was cleared off the line in their best first-half chance before team-mate Fraser Fyvie came close but sent Grant Holt's cross wide of the mark before Paul Hanlon headed past the post.

Hibernian were reduced to 10 men seven minutes before the break as Marvin...

Dundee United gave their Ladbrokes Championship title chances a shot in the arm after William Edjenguele earned them a 1-1 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road.

Hibs dominated the first half and James Keatings opened the scoring 10 minutes before the break after a touch of class from Andrew Shinnie ended United's stubborn resistance.

But United improved and centre-back Edjenguele headed an equaliser midway through the second half.

The draw keeps Queen of the South top of the table by a point from Hibs...

Rangers, Scottish Government hit out at FA after pitch invasion

Hibernian fans celebrated on the pitch after the final whistle at Hampden Park.
Fans invaded the pitch after the Scottish Cup final earlier in 2016.

Rangers have hit out at the Scottish Football Association after both themselves and Hibernian escaped punishment over the Scottish Cup final pitch invasion.

The Ibrox club demanded "urgent clarification" on player safety issues after SFA disciplinary charges were thrown out by a judicial panel on Wednesday.

The panel stressed that clubs could not be automatically punished for supporters' misbehaviour under the SFA disciplinary rules -- members voted against "strict liability" in 2013.

But Rangers...

Hibernian appeal Neil Lennon five-match UEFA ban

Hibernian will appeal Neil Lennon's five-match UEFA ban.

Hibernian have launched an appeal after manager Neil Lennon was hit with a five-match UEFA ban after being charged with "acts of violence against the referee."

UEFA's control, ethics and disciplinary body handed down the punishment in relation to Lennon's dismissal during Hibs' 1-0 Europa League defeat by Brondby on July 14, when he was sent to the stand after protesting over a disallowed goal.

Lennon has already served an automatic one-match touchline ban for the second leg in Denmark, which Hibs...
