Sources: Man United's Demetri Mitchell to join Hearts on loan

ESPN FC's Steve Nicol goes player-by-player to determine who should remain and who should depart Manchester United's back line.

Manchester United defender Demetri Mitchell is set to join Scottish Premiership side Hearts on loan, sources have told ESPN FC.

Highly-rated left-back Mitchell made his debut for United on the final day of last season in the win over Crystal Palace.

The 20-year-old is tipped for a big future at United, but he is currently well down the pecking order in Jose Mourinho's first-team plans at Old Trafford.

United are happy to loan out Mitchell so that he can gain valuable first-team experience and Hearts...

Aberdeen failed to make any ground on Ladbrokes Premiership leaders Celtic, drawing 0-0 against Hearts at Pittodrie.

The Dons probably deserved the three points, especially after a dominant second half display, but were kept at bay by a Hearts side who have now gone nine games unbeaten.

The visitors started more adventurously but when the first chance came in the 11th...

Hearts went on to keep a fifth consecutive clean sheet but it owed much to the clear mistake by referee Steven McLean and his team seven minutes into a clash that finished 0-0 in front of a sell-out 19,316 crowd at the redeveloped Tynecastle.

Hibs were the better side in a stop-start first half and pushed for a winner but Hearts' Kyle Lafferty missed a great chance to prevent...

Hearts' long wait for a win at St Johnstone goes on after their three-game winning sequence ended with a 0-0 draw in Perth.

The Edinburgh club have not won in the Fair City since 2010, when Jim Jefferies was in charge at Tynecastle.

Craig Levein's side had to play out the closing 15 minutes with 10 men, after losing 16-year-old midfield prodigy Harry Cochrane to a red card shown by referee Kevin Clancy for a late lunge on rival midfielder Blair Alston.

The youngster had been booked earlier in the second...
