Napoli, Sevilla and Celtic secure Champions League qualification

Sevilla are in the UCL group stage for the third straight year after they held off Istanbul Basaksehir 4-3 on aggregate.

Second-half goals from Jose Callejon and Lorenzo Insigne earned Napoli a 2-0 win in Nice and ensured their qualification for the Champions League group stages.

The Serie A side won 4-0 on aggregate but it could have been more with Dries Mertens also striking the post and missing several opportunities in a game they largely dominated.

After a frustrating first half, Callejon opened the scoring from close range in the 48th minute from a Marek Hamsik cross while Mario Balotelli was on the sideline...

Napoli beat Nice in UCL playoff first leg; Celtic thrash Astana, Sevilla win

Goals from Dries Mertens and Jorginho helped hosts Napoli take a 2-0 first-leg lead over Nice.

Goals from Dries Mertens and Jorginho were enough to earn Napoli a 2-0 win against Nice in their Champions League qualifying play-off first leg.

Mertens rounded Nice goalkeeper Yoann Cardinale after racing on to a ball over the top to fire into an empty net in the 13th minute.

And Christophe Jallet then fouled Belgium international Mertens in the 70th minute to concede a penalty, which Jorginho scored to seal the win.
