Genoa scored three goals in the last 12 minutes to seal a 3-1 victory and deny newly-promoted Cagliari a winning start to their Serie A campaign.

Lucas Ocampos curled an early effort over the top on debut and Darko Lazovic hit the bar as the home side dominated the first half at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

But after the break, veteran forward Marco Borriello headed the visitors in front.

Olivier Ntcham, on loan from Manchester City, equalised with a deflected 78th-minute effort and moments later Diego Laxalt...

Genoa sign Giovanni Simeone, son of Atletico Madrid coach, from River Plate

Giovanni Simeone could not help Argentina advance to the knockout stage at the Olympics.

Genoa have signed Giovanni Simeone, the son of Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone, from River Plate.

The Serie A club completed the deal with the Argentine giants on Thursday for a reported €3 million fee.

ESPN FC's Gab Marcotti explains if any team in Serie A can prevent Juventus from winning a sixth straight league title.

The 21-year-old played for Argentina at the Olympics, coming on as a substitute in all three games.

Simeone has made 31 appearances for River since debuting in August 2013, scoring six goals. He scored 12 times in 29 games on loan at Banfield last season.

Italian federation to rule on Lazio bid for 1914-15 Serie A title

Newly appointed Italy manager Giampiero Ventura highlighted how the Italian league is harming the product of the national team.

The Italian football federation has set up a commission to investigate whether Lazio should share the 1914-15 Serie A title with Genoa for the season that was interrupted by World War I, according to a report.

More than 30,000 Lazio supporters signed a petition calling for the probe in the hopes that the club could be crowned Italian champions for a third time, pulling them level with neighbours and arch-rivals AS Roma on three Italian titles, Reuters reports.

Genoa sign Lucas Ocampos on loan from Marseille

Lucas Ocampos will spend the 2016-17 season with Genoa.

Genoa have signed Marseille playmaker Lucas Ocampos on loan with the option of making the move a permanent transfer.

Ocampos, 21, has been with OM for a season and a half, having joined from Monaco in a similar deal in February 2015.

The Argentine scored on his debut against Bastia and played a key role under then-coach Marcelo Bielsa, but struggled for game time last season after his compatriot resigned following the opening game of the campaign.

A statement on Genoa's website read: "Genoa Cricket...
