Arsenal may bring back Wellington Silva, sell to Werder Bremen - sources

Arsene Wenger's side had planned to do the same earlier this month when Bordeaux tried to sign the Brazilian only for the deal to collapse over concerns over his fitness.

On Wednesday, Fluminense host Rio de Janeiro rivals Botafogo in the city's giant Maracana stadium. It is the 20th game the ground has staged this year -- and no one knows when the next one will be.

One of football's most iconic venues, the Maracana was built for the 1950 World Cup, and expensively rebuilt for the same tournament in 2014. It has since been handed over to a private consortium to administer. They are desperate to get out. Changes to the terms of the contract, they...

Barcelona have made their first signing of the summer with the confirmation that they will execute their option to make Fluminense defender Marlon Santos's loan deal permanent.

Marlon, 21, signed a three-year deal with the Catalan club and will form part of the first team's preseason tour of the United States under new coach Ernesto Valverde.

No fee has been revealed by either club, but as ESPN FC reported earlier in the season it's estimated to be somewhere in the region of €6 million.
