Feyenoord ace Eljero Elia gets wrong tattoo to mark Dutch cup glory

Feyenoord beat Utrecht 2-1 to lift the Dutch Cup last month.

After winning the Dutch cup this season, Eljero Elia decided to have the occasion immortalised on his body in the form of a celebratory tattoo.

Elia decided to have an image of the trophy inked just above his ankle, along with the date that his Feyenoord side managed to see off fellow finalists Utrecht.

However, not only did the tattoo artist manage to get the date of the match completely wrong, he also managed to misspell 'Feyenoord' while he was at it.

Feyenoord youth Tahith Chong has confirmed he is joining Manchester United.

A source told ESPN FC last month that Chong, 16, was close to agreeing a transfer to Old Trafford and the forward has now confirmed the move.

Chong had told in January that he wanted to stay at De Kuip despite United's interest, but he explained to Elf Voetbal: "It was my intention to stay at Feyenoord, but no plan was made for me. When I said I wanted to leave, they came up with a plan. That was too late."

Feyenoord won their first piece of silverware since 2008 after defeating FC Utrecht 2-1 in the KNVB-Beker final at De Kuip on Sunday.

Michiel Kramer put Feyenoord ahead and though Ramon Leeuwin equalised, Eljero Elia's shot led to a decisive own goal by unfortunate goalkeeper Filip Bednarek.

Feyenoord's first-half pressure eventually told three minutes before the break as Kramer jumped above the Utrecht defense to meet a Dirk Kuyt cross and guide a header beyond the dive of Bednarek and just inside...

Louis van Gaal called the death of Netherlands and Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff a "very sad day" for football, and said his thoughts were with the Cruyff family in this difficult time.

Cruyff, who died on Thursday at the age of 68, and Van Gaal played together at Ajax, each managed at the club, and later followed each other as Barcelona coach, with the current Manchester United boss succeeding Cruyff at the Camp Nou in 1997.

Netherlands, Ajax and Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has died at the age of 68.

Cruyff, a three-time Ballon d'Or winner, had been fighting lung cancer but said last month he was feeling "very positive" after undergoing treatment

However, it was announced on Thursday that he had lost his battle.

A statement on read: "On March 24 2016 Johan Cruyff (68) died peacefully in Barcelona, surrounded by his family after a hard fought battle with cancer. It's with great sadness...
