Christian Gentner scored an 84th-minute winner as Stuttgart won an extraordinary game against Eintracht Frankfurt 5-4 at the Waldstadion.

Alexander Madlung put Frankfurt in front before two goals from Martin Harnik gave Stuttgart the lead at half-time.

Gentner extended their advantage to 3-1 early in the second half, but Alexander Meier, Stefan Aigner and Madlung again struck in the space of eight manic minutes to put Frankfurt back in front.

After a tight first half, Alexander Meier put the guests in front with his first real sight of goal.

Marvin Ducksch scored a stunning equaliser within 10 minutes, and captain Uwe Hunemeier then put the hosts in front before substitute Stefan Kutschke sealed their third win of the season.

Hamburg scored their first goal of the season, but it was not enough to prevent them from going down 2-1 at home to Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.

Nicolai Muller cancelled out Haris Seferovic's opener, after Hamburg had set a new Bundesliga record of 507 minutes without scoring at the start of a season.
