Derby showed no ill-effects following the suspension of manager Nigel Pearson as they picked up a first win in seven Sky Bet Championship games with a 2-0 triumph at fellow strugglers Cardiff.

Pearson was suspended by the club just hours before kick-off following a meeting with owner Mel Morris, as Chris Powell was placed in temporary charge.

Tom Ince set them on their way to three points with a cool finish before Nick Blackman won and converted a penalty after a foul by Cardiff defender Matthew Connolly,...

Nigel Pearson was appointed Derby boss in May.

Derby County have suspended manager Nigel Pearson just hours before their game against Cardiff.

Fishy goings on at half-time in Derby's Championship meeting with Blackburn

Mackerel Jordan made a splash in the Championship on Saturday.

To suggest that there was something fishy about the half-time entertainment during Derby's home defeat against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon is to do the bizarre scenes at the iPro Arena a huge disservice.

O... K.

Just for the record, the giant flailing fish...

Danny Graham returned to inflict further misery on Derby who lost at home for the fourth game in a row as Blackburn won 2-1 at the iPro Stadium.

The Rams had scored their first Sky Bet Championship goal at home this term to go in front through Matej Vydra but Marvin Emnes equalised with a deflected shot.

Graham, who failed to score during a loan spell with the East Midlands club earlier in his career, then grabbed the winner for Rovers with 17 minutes remaining.

The result leaves Derby, who started...
