Luke Steele came off the bench to help Bristol City hold promotion rivals Derby to a goalless draw in an incident-packed match at Pride Park.

Steele came on for the injured Frank Fielding at half-time and made two outstanding saves as Derby were unable to make their second-half pressure pay.

City had to dig in to end a five-match losing run although Korey Smith almost won it with a shot that flashed just wide in stoppage time.

Given Derby's eight-game unbeaten run in the league, it was no surprise...

Gary Rowett returned to haunt Birmingham again as his Derby side stayed second in the Sky Bet Championship with a 3-0 win at St Andrew's.

Sacked as Birmingham manager 13 months ago and replaced by Gianfranco Zola, Rowett has moved on to build a team at Derby who have promotion to the Premier League in their sights.

The 43-year-old was heavily linked with the vacant managerial position at Stoke, who sacked Mark Hughes after their humiliating FA Cup defeat at Coventry on Saturday.

But Rowett, who has led Derby to second in the Championship this season, committed his future to the Rams by agreeing a new three-and-a-half-year deal.

Lingard, Lukaku see previously profligate Man United past Derby

Manchester United needed 84 minutes to break down Derby County, but pushed past the Championship side into the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The FC crew discuss the developing feud between Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, which escalated with Mourinho's match-fixing comment.

MANCHESTER, England -- Three points from Manchester United's 2-0 win vs. Derby in the FA Cup third round.

1. United make hard work of Championship opponents

The last time Manchester United faced Derby County in the FA Cup, it was in the fourth round two seasons ago when Louis van Gaal's side won 3-1 and went on to win the competition.

This result was not quite so comfortable -- Jose Mourinho's team had to wait until six minutes from time for Jesse Lingard's fantastic strike to break the deadlock...
