Deportivo La Coruna's faint hopes of staying in LaLiga look all but over despite continuing their improved recent form with a goalless draw at Leganes.

Third-bottom Depor came into Friday night's match having lost just one of their previous five fixtures - 1-0 at second-placed Atletico Madrid - but still seven points away from safety.

They managed to pick up another point at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque but, with their final four games of the season coming against top-10 sides Barcelona, Celta...

Adrian Lopez struck five minutes from time as Deportivo La Coruna boosted their hopes of preserving their LaLiga status with a 3-2 victory over rock-bottom Malaga at the Riazor.

Diego Rolan's brace looked to have earned the visitors a point after they twice came from a goal down but Adrian's second goal of the game moved Depor to within five points of safety.

The hosts were ahead inside six minutes when on-loan Arsenal forward Lucas Perez slotted home from the penalty spot but Rolan struck from close...

Kevin Gameiro converted a match-winning penalty as Atletico Madrid beat struggling Deportivo La Coruna 1-0 to remain in contention for the La Liga title.

The French striker tucked away a spot-kick after Saul was fouled in the Depor box after 34 minutes.

Midway through the second half at the Wanda Metropolitano, Lucas Hernandez made an excellent challenge to deny Depor what looked like a certain equalising goal as Borja Valle shaped to shoot.

Lucas Perez's return to Deportivo from Arsenal has not worked - agent

Lucas Perez has had little to celebrate since returning to Deportivo.

Lucas Perez's decision to leave Arsenal to return to Deportivo La Coruna on a season-long loan "was not the best step," his agent has said.

Perez, under contract at Arsenal until 2020, has scored four goals in 26 La Liga appearances for a Deportivo side that is in the relegation zone.

He was booed by an element of the home crowd when he was substituted in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Las Palmas.

"You don't regret it [returning to Deportivo], but obviously it was not the best step," agent Rodrigo Fernandez...

Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez missed a second-half penalty as Espanyol rode their luck to earn a goalless draw at the Riazor and deny the hosts a first win since mid-December.

Depor had lost their opening two matches under new boss Clarence Seedorf, but will feel they did more than enough to beat Espanyol after creating a host of chances.

The best one came in the 65th minute when Perez was brought down inside the area by Esteban Granero, but the on-loan Arsenal forward saw his spot-kick superbly...
