Cordoba's wait for a first win of the season goes on after they threw away a two-goal lead with half an hour remaining to draw 2-2 at Elche.

Fortune favoured Miroslav Djukic's side at the start of the game, with Elche striker Jonathas de Jesus missing from the penalty spot with just five minutes played, and former Elche forward Fidel Chaves sent the visitors into the lead not long after.

The Andalusians could almost taste the three points when Fede Cartabia scored the second goal of the evening in...

Cordoba's struggles were laid bare for all to see as they were held to a goalless draw at home by a Deportivo La Coruna side who played for an hour with 10 men.

Cordoba, rock bottom without a win in their opening 11 matches, missed a penalty after 15 minutes and then utterly failed to capitalise on the 29th minute dismissal of Helder Postiga in a dismal performance.

Everything seemed to go their way and yet they could not take advantage with a display of attacking futility which should leave little...

Antoine Griezmann scored twice and Koke had a hand in three goals as Atletico Madrid cruised to a 4-2 win against Cordoba.

Griezmann put Atletico ahead just before the break but Nabil Ghilas grabbed the first of his two goals to level things up shortly after the interval.

Griezmann's second restored the home side's lead and further goals from Mario Mandzukic and Raul Garcia put the result beyond doubt before Ghilas scored his second.

Atletico started on the front foot and Arda Turan dragged a shot wide...

Struggling Real Sociedad were denied a morale-boosting win in heartbreaking fashion as they conceded a last-gasp equaliser to draw 1-1 at rock-bottom Cordoba.

Sociedad had looked set to pick up only their second league victory of the season after Inigo Martinez's first-half goal saw them leading heading into the dying moments at the Nuevo Arcangel.

However, with barely three minutes left on the clock, Cordoba striker Xisco turned in the rebound after the ball had come back off the post to salvage a...

Former Valencia boss Miroslav Djukic replaces Albert Ferrer at Cordoba

Miroslav Djukic will take over for Albert Ferrer as manager of struggling La Liga club Cordoba.

Former Valencia boss Miroslav Djukic has replaced Albert Ferrer as the head coach of struggling Primera Division club Cordoba.

A club statement confirmed that the Serbian tactician, 48, will meet his new players on Tuesday morning after signing a deal running to the end of the season with the Andalusian outfit.

Djukic -- once a Yugoslavia international defender who represented Deportivo La Coruna and Tenerife -- had been out of work since leaving Valencia in December 2013.

Ferrer left his position...
