Morocco's Zakarya Bergdich joins Sochaux

Ligue 2 side Sochaux have completed the signing of Morocco international Zakarya Bergdich on a two-year deal.

The left-sider, who ended his one-season stay at Cordoba CF earlier this window, returns to French football after previously featuring for Alfortville and Racing Club de Lens.

Sochaux confirmed the deal on their official website on Wednesday, with the player announcing that he was delighted to be moving to the Stade Auguste Bonal.

Lionel Messi broke Athletic Bilbao's hearts with a late free kick as Barcelona's big guns kept their Copa del Rey hopes alive and advanced to the quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Messi struck with 12 minutes remaining at the Nou Camp to seal a 3-1 win on the night and a 4-3 aggregate victory to ensure Luis Enrique's men made it to the last eight.

Deportivo La Coruna set to sign Florin Andone from Cordoba

Florin Andone is set to sign with Deportivo La Coruna.

Deportivo La Coruna have reached an agreement to sign Romania forward Florin Andone from Cordoba, subject to a medical.

The 23-year-old will arrive in the Galician city on Monday and undergo his medical the following morning at the HM Modelo hospital, according to a statement on Depor's website.

Andone played for his country at Euro 2016, impressing in their opening game against hosts France before being restricted to substitute appearances in their other two group matches.

Leganes earn first promotion to top flight as Alaves win Segunda Division

Leganes were promoted to the top flight of Spanish football for the first time in their history after winning on the final day of the Segunda Division season on Saturday.

Pablo Insua scored with a header following a corner in the 48th minute to give Leganes a 1-0 win at Mirandes to clinch promotion to the Primera Division.

Leganes were only promoted to the second tier in 2014 and will now find themselves playing alongside the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid next season.
