The Colorado Rapids have completed the signing of German midfielder Stefan Aigner pending the finalization of a medical, a league source has told ESPN FC. The source indicated that Aigner has signed a three-and-a-half year deal.

The addition of Aigner, 29, is contingent on receipt of his ITC and a P-1 visa.

The Colorado Rapids have made a pair of interim front office promotions in the wake of Tim Hinchey's departure from the organization, a club spokesperson confirmed to ESPN FC

Padraig Smith has been named the team's interim general manager, while Wayne Brant is now the organization's interim chief business officer. Hinchey, who was the Rapids president, left the club back on June 1 to become the CEO of USA Swimming.

NYCFC went a man down early but netted two second-half goals to hold off the Chicago Fire.

New York City FC overcame an early red card to beat the Chicago Fire 2-1 on Saturday.

After Yangel Herrera was sent off in the 12th minute, David Villa and Frederic Brillant scored early in the second half to carry the 10 men to victory.

Herrera had already been booked for one lunging challenge when he came in late again, stomping on Bastian Schweinsteiger's foot to receive his marching orders.
