Jupp Heynckes warns Bayern Munich over Celtic threat ahead of UCL clash

Jupp Heynckes reflects on the positives he saw in Bayern Munich's 5-0 thrashing of Freiburg in his return as manager.

MUNICH -- Bayern Munich interim coach Jupp Heynckes has warned not to take victory against Celtic for granted ahead of their Champions League meeting in Munich on Wednesday.

Bayern won their opening Champions League game against Anderlecht but followed that with a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Paris Saint-Germain -- a result that cost Carlo Ancelotti his job and led to Heynckes' return

After losing in Paris, Bayern go into Wednesday's game level on three points with Celtic, who beat the Belgian...

Olivier Ntcham's second-half strike was enough to give an under-strength Celtic side a 1-0 Scottish Premiership win over Dundee at Parkhead.

With a view to the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich in midweek, boss Brendan Rodgers reshuffled his squad with goalkeeper Dorus De Vries and right-back Cristian Gamboa making their first appearances of the season.

The champions were held at bay in a goalless first 45 minutes but 21-year-old midfielder Ntcham's long-range drive in the 61st minute extended...

Celtic fan sentenced over Kylian Mbappe incident during PSG match

Kylian Mbappe is confronted by a supporter during Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League victory against Celtic.
Celtic fan John Hatton confronts PSG's Kylian Mbappe.

The Celtic fan who tried to kick Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe during last month's Champions League clash at Celtic Park will not be jailed.

John Hatton, from Belfast, was sentenced to a 160-hour community payback order at Glasgow Sheriff Court and banned from attending football matches for the next four years.

The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to charges of assault and behaviour likely to incite public disorder last month.

He ran onto the pitch and tried to kick Mbappe during PSG's 5-0 thrashing...

Former Celtic boss Ronny Deila strips naked to inspire Valerenga

Ronny Deila has taken an unusual approach to management.

It's been revealed -- quite literally -- that former Celtic boss Ronny Deila has developed a daring new motivational technique to help inspire his players to victory.

Now in charge of Norwegian side Valerenga, Delia has admitted that he has taken to stripping naked before matches in order to bolster his squad.

It certainly appears to be getting results too, with Delia first removing his clothes during the team meeting before last month's clash with rivals Brann, only for his relegation-threatened...

Ange Postecoglou ready to unleash Tom Rogic on tired Syria defence

ESPN FC's Jason Dasey and David Mitchell examine Australia's chances in their second-leg playoff against Syria.
ESPN FC's Jason Dasey and David Mitchell report from Malaysia following Australia's 1-1 draw with Syria.

From an outsider's perspective, the sight of Tom Rogic on the Socceroos bench at Malaysia's Hang Jebat Stadium was an unusual one.

Some fans wondered how one of Australia's most exciting players could possibly be overlooked for the country's biggest World Cup qualifying match in 12 years.

Others suggested coach Ange Postecoglou was chucking a Guus Hiddink, a la Uruguay 2005 and the Harry Kewell effect.

But for those thinking ahead to Tuesday's playoff decider against Syria at ANZ Stadium, Rogic's...
