Relegated Blackburn picked up their their first points of the League One season and inflicted Bradford's first defeat with a hard-earned 1-0 win at Valley Parade.

The winning goal came in the 47th minute when winger Craig Conway delivered a testing cross from the left and striker Dominic Samuel stooped to head the ball into the bottom corner of the net from just inside the six yard box.

Up to that point, Bradford's Republic of Ireland keeper Colin Doyle had rarely been tested in a scrappy first half...

Dominic Poleon's first-half goal allowed Bradford to make it two wins from two in the new League One season as they ground out a 1-0 victory at 10-man Gillingham.

The hosts had striker Conor Wilkinson sent off for good measure as their search for a goal in the campaign goes on, while Poleon will be relieved his glaring miss just before half-time did not prove costly.

Bradford broke through after 19 minutes, when Alex Jones got to the by-line and cut the ball back, with Poleon passing his shot first-time...

Ben Whiteman scored an 87th-winner to give Doncaster a 3-2 victory over 10-man Bradford in an entertaining all-Yorkshire Carabao Cup first-round tie at Valley Parade.

Doncaster went ahead after eight minutes with a close-range shot from Alfie May after a mix-up in the Bradford defence.

John Marquis was tackled by Tony McMahon as he tried a shot, but the ball spun towards goal and, although Colin Doyle managed to save, he could only push the ball into the path of May who slotted home.

James Meredith, 29, will play in the Championship next season with Millwall.

Ten days after his Bradford City narrowly missed out on promotion to the English Championship, fringe Socceroos defender James Meredith has joined the club that delivered the heartbreak.

Millwall announced early on Tuesday Meredith had signed a two-year deal and will start with The Lions on July 1, pending a medical when he returns from holiday next week.

It follows this month's League One playoff final between the sides at Wembley, where the 29-year-old left-back played for a long-desired promotion...

Steve Morison scored a late Wembley winner to clinch Millwall a 1-0 win against Bradford in the League One playoff final.

Veteran striker Morison stole in at the far post as the tie appeared destined for extra-time to grab an 85th-minute winner and end the Londoners' two-year absence from the Championship.

It was the evergreen Morison's 19th goal of the season and in a stroke expunged the memory of last season's play-off final defeat to Barnsley.
