Japan leave Shinji Kagawa and Shinji Okazaki out of Asian Cup squad

Shinji Kagawa and Shinji Okazaki will not participate in the 2019 Asian Cup.

Leicester City striker Shinji Okazaki and Borussia Dortmund playmaker Shinji Kagawa were both omitted from Japan's 23-man squad for the 2019 Asian Cup on Wednesday, but Southampton centre back Maya Yoshida was included in the list.

Okazaki, 32, is Japan's third-highest scorer but has failed to find the net for either club or country in a year, while Kagawa, 29, is on the fringes at Dortmund, making just four appearances for the club this season.

Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho dedicates winning goal to late grandmother

Shaka Hislop examines the latest transfer rumours involving Aaron Ramsey, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Chicharito and Toby Alderweireld.

Jadon Sancho dedicated his winning goal to his late grandmother as Borussia Dortmund won 2-1 at Ruhr rivals Schalke on Saturday.

Dortmund took an early lead through Thomas Delaney's header, but Daniel Caligiuri equalised from the spot before Sancho struck in the 74th minute.

"The goal means everything to my family. Sadly, my grandmother passed away, so that goal was for her," Sancho, 18, told FOX Sports.

"I'm glad that I got the goal and helped the team to get three points."

Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic out with calf injury; Lucien Favre supports fan protest

Raf Honigstein explains why he feels Christian Pulisic still has more to prove at Dortmund before making a big-money move elsewhere in Europe.

DORTMUND, Germany -- Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre has revealed United States winger Christian Pulisic has picked up a calf injury, and said that he completely understands a nationwide fan protest to abolish the Monday games after a 2-0 win over SC Freiburg on Saturday.

Injury worries are starting to pile up for Dortmund, with Pulisic and centre-back Manuel Akanji (knee injury) absent from the squad on Saturday, and defender Dan-Axel Zagadou had to come off with a foot injury after 37 minutes.
