Damon Lathrope suffered a serious injury as Woking frustrated Vanarama National League play-off hopefuls Boreham Wood by holding them to a goalless draw.

The visitors were targeting a fifth straight win which would have boosted them above Tranmere and Aldershot and up to third in the table.

The Wood dominated the first half, with Angelo Balanta and Bruno Andrade both shaving paint off posts before the former volleyed just over from outside the box.

After the break, however, Grant Smith was forced to...

Ex-West Ham winger Blair Turgott accused of gambling with stolen card

Blair Turgott has been accused of using a stolen credit card to gamble at a casino.

A former Premier League footballer gambled £16,000 at a Mayfair casino using a card stolen from an 85-year-old, a court has heard.

Ex-West Ham United winger Blair Turgott, 23, is accused of withdrawing the cash before exchanging it for chips during a night at the Playboy casino in central London's Park Lane.

Turgott, who made one first-team appearance for West Ham -- the FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest in January 2014 -- cashed out £16,900 at the end of the night, leaving with a £900...

Andrade struck a spectacular opener in the 35th minute, converting Morgan Ferrier's cross with an overhead kick, but Gateshead equalised early in the second half when Russell Penn's shot diverted in off Wes York.

Boreham Wood put themselves on the cusp of the play-off zone with an assertive 3-0 win over Ebbsfleet at Stonebridge Road.

The Wood forged in front in the first half when Angelo Balanta unleashed a fantastic volley which flew past the outstretched hands of Nathan Ashmore.

Luke Garrard's men doubled the lead after the interval when Bruno Andrade's corner was not properly cleared and Jamie Turley fired through a crowd from outside the area.

Joe Quigley also netted when he broke clear, cut inside his man...

Dover leapfrogged Boreham Wood in the race for the National League play-offs with a 3-2 win at Meadow Park.

All the goals came in the second half with the visitors taking the lead seven minutes after the break when Manny Parry diverted a cross in off his shin, via the post.

Luke Garrard's side levelled 20 minutes from time when David Stephens came up from the back and volleyed in but within seconds Dover substitute Kadell Daniel latched on to Ryan Bird's headed flick-on to steer the away side back...
