Boca Juniors president hoping to seal Carlos Tevez return from China

Carlos Tevez agreed to join Shanghai Shenhua in late December 2016.

Boca Juniors president Daniel Angelici says he is "optimistic" that Carlos Tevez will soon return to the club and begin a third spell with the club.

Tevez left Boca 12 months ago to sign a lucrative two-year contact with Shanghai Shenhua, and can exercise a release clause this month, one year into his deal.

The Argentine striker flew back to Buenos Aires last week after a disappointing season in China and according to Angelici, the 33-year-old's agent Adrian Ruocco is negotiating with Shenhua to...

Boca Juniors have confirmed the news that striker Dario Benedetto has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The Argentina international will have surgery in Buenos Aires on Thursday and faces a battle to play again this season and in next year's World Cup.

Benedetto got hurt during the second half of his team's 2-1 home league defeat against Racing Club on Sunday night.

With nine minutes remaining, he appeared to twist his right knee while waiting for the ball in the Racing...

Colombia's Edwin Cardona has apologised after sparking a racism controversy during his team's 2-0 loss to South Korea in Friday's friendly.

The Colombian midfielder made a gesture with his eyes toward South Korean players in the second half of Friday night's game at Suwon World Cup Stadium, south of Seoul.

"I didn't mean to disrespect anyone, a country or a race, but if anyone felt offended, or interpreted it in that way, I am sorry,'' Cardona said in a video posted on the Colombia team's Twitter...

Boca Juniors supporter attempts to sneak into stadium

Boca Juniors thrashed Belgrano 4-0 in the Argentinian top flight on Sunday in front of a packed house at the former's famous Bombonera stadium.

Alas, the overall attendance would have been a little higher, but one intrepid Boca fan sadly fell just a little bit short in his attempts to sneak into the ground through a hole in the perimeter wall.

So close and yet so, so far. You've simply got to admire the effort.

For the record, Boca's emphatic victory saw them extend their lead at the top of the...

Peru officials do not believe La Bombonera will provide a safe venue.

LIMA, Peru -- Peruvian football officials have asked FIFA to shift the World Cup qualifier against Argentina next month from Boca Juniors' Bombonera stadium in Buenos Aires.

In a letter to FIFA general secretary Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura, the Peruvian Football Association says it "will be difficult to ensure" the safety of "the Peruvian association as well as the thousands of fans who will travel from Peru for the historic match."

A match in 2015 between Boca Juniors and archrival River Plate was...
