Kyle Vassell set Blackpool on their way to a fourth League One victory in as many games with a dominant 3-0 win over struggling Gillingham.

Having earlier hit the bar with a powerful header, Vassell fired home the opener after debutant goalkeeper Tom Hadler spilled Jimmy Ryan's 25-yard shot.

Scorer turned provider for the visitors after 33 minutes, as Vassell's drilled cross was met by the onrushing Nathan Delfouneso, who guided the ball past the luckless Hadler.

Armand Gnanduillet struck a stoppage-time winner as Blackpool scored two goals in the final six minutes to beat Fylde Coast neighbours Fleetwood 2-1.

After a competitive opening, the Seasiders came within inches of taking the lead in the 25th minute as Jay Spearing's 25-yard shot struck the right-hand upright.

Fleetwood had an opportunity on the counter after an hour when Blackpool goalkeeper Joe Lumley came out of his area but was rounded by Wes Burns, who spurned the chance to shoot when presented...

Blackpool welcome 34-year-old mascot as part of his stag-do

There were more than a few quizzical eyebrows raised when the teams emerged from the tunnel ahead of Blackpool's recent League Two game against Bradford.

This was because accompanying diminutive midfielder Jay Spearing onto the Bloomfield Road pitch was a matchday mascot who positively towered above him.

As part of his stag-do, Kevin Stuart's mates arranged a little surprise for him, arranging for the 34-year-old to carry out mascot duties at the match -- all while wearing his smartest pair of shoes.

Blackpool heaped more pressure on struggling Northampton with a convincing 3-0 win at Bloomfield Road to pile the pressure on Cobblers' caretaker manager Dean Austin.

In an even first half, both goalkeepers stood out, with Northampton's Richard O'Donnell plunging to his left to deny Viv Solomon-Otabor and then punching clear a Jimmy Ryan volley.

Blackpool in turn were indebted to Joe Lumley, who saved a close-range Kevin van Veen header and denied Chris Long when through on goal.

A Nathan Delfouneso hat-trick helped Blackpool claim a thumping 5-0 win over Bradford at Bloomfield Road which eased their relegation fears.

Blackpool took the lead after 17 minutes, with Colin Daniel's cross finding Delfouneso 12 yards out and his effort was too strong for ex-Seasiders keeper Colin Doyle.

Their advantage was doubled five minutes later through a superb individual goal from Viv Solomon-Otabor, who turned away from two men inside the area before slotting in from 12 yards.

Blackpool were...
