Neil McDonald is no longer the manager of Blackpool.

Blackpool have parted company with manager Neil McDonald, the club have announced.

McDonald, who was appointed last summer, was unable to prevent the Seasiders from suffering a second successive relegation and leaves the club as they head into League Two.

The 50-year-old told the club's official website: "I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Blackpool football club, its staff, players and fans for their support throughout what has been a very difficult season.

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston wins libel damages from abusive fan

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has won £30,000 libel damages from an abusive fan.

Oyston brought proceedings against Stephen Reed over material posted on a website called Back Henry Street, which is used by followers of the club, in June 2015.

Mr Justice Langstaff in the High Court said that Reed was among fans who were concerned with the way in which the club was managed since Oyston's father, Owen, was involved in its purchase.

Karl Oyston and his wife, Victoria, had been the subject of online...

Blackpool failed to escape from the clutches of a second successive relegation as they were thumped 5-1 at Peterborough on the final day of the Sky Bet League One season.

They arrived at the ABAX Stadium in need of a victory to stand any chance of dodging another drop while hoping that Fleetwood were beaten by Crewe.

The dream was briefly alive as Jacob Blyth headed them into a 16th-minute lead when converting a Luke Higham delivery from the left. But news of two goals in the space of eight first-half...

Four second-half goals at Blackpool clinched Wigan's promotion back to the Sky Bet Championship and left the hosts on the brink of successive relegations a 4-0 defeat.

Blackpool missed a couple of great chance inside half an hour as Jack Redshaw was denied by Jussi Jaaskelainen before Mark Cullen dragged an effort wide from eight yards.

The game opened up after half-time and Wigan almost scored on the counter attack after 58 minutes, but Yanic Wildschut's shot was straight at Colin Doyle.

But they did...

Blackpool may have received laundered money - court hearing

Owen Oyston has been accused of stripping Blackpool of funds.

A High Court registrar has been told of "concerns" that cash from money laundering might have found its way to Blackpool.

The issue was raised in a preliminary hearing in a bitter legal battle between the League One club's owners, the Oyston family, and its president Valeri Belokon, a Latvian millionaire.

Lawyers for the Oystons said it had come to light that Latvia's financial regulator, the Financial and Capital Markets Commission (FKTK), recently imposed a very heavy fine of more than €1...
