Vincent Aboubakar closes the door on FC Porto return

Besiktas loanee Vincent Aboubakar has refused to countenance a return to parent club FC Porto at the end of the season as his future remains uncertain.

Lyon have no security fears ahead of Besiktas return - Maxime Gonalons

Fans came onto the pitch to escape violence in the stands before last week's first leg in Lyon.

Lyon captain Maxime Gonalons has said he has no concerns about security ahead of Thursday's Europa League quarterfinal second leg at Besiktas.

Last week's first leg was held up for around 45 minutes amid crowd problems.

Violence began outside the Parc OL stadium and continued inside, and the game was delayed after Lyon fans spilled onto the pitch to avoid being hit by missiles thrown by Besiktas fans.

UEFA responded by fining both clubs €100,000 and imposing suspended one-season bans...

UEFA gives Lyon, Besiktas suspended European bans after crowd melee

The Europa League match between Lyon and Besiktas was delayed about 45 minutes after crowd violence spilled onto the pitch.

Lyon and Besiktas both received suspended European bans from UEFA on Wednesday after crowd disturbances delayed the start of last week's Europa League game.

Europe's governing body fined the clubs €100,000 each after finding them equally responsible for the incidents, which set the kick-off back 45 minutes before Lyon won 2-1. The second leg of the tie is set for Thursday in Istanbul.

Besiktas fan sentenced to two months in prison after Lyon violence

Fans came onto the pitch to escape violence in the stands before Thursday's game in Lyon.

A Besiktas supporter has been sentenced to two months in prison after violence marred last week's Europa League quarterfinal first leg at Lyon.

The 27-year-old, who reports said was a German citizen of Turkish origin, was identified on CCTV footage as having been involved in trouble outside the Parc OL last Thursday.

Footage showed him knocking over a barrier and punching a steward before being arrested.
