Karl-Heinz Rummenigge suggests Bayern Munich's effort to re-sign Robert Lewandowski is moving in the right direction.

Carlo Ancelotti has praised Julian Green after his first Bayern Munich goal in midweek, but the U.S. international striker is set to make way for Robert Lewandowski against Augsburg in the club's second Bavarian derby in four days.

Carlo Ancelotti believes Augsburg made life difficult for his Bayern Munich side in their 3-1 DFB Pokal victory.

Bayern Munich are making good progress on a contract extension to keep star striker Robert Lewandowski at the club until 2021, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said.

Poland international Lewandowski, 28, signed a five-year deal when he joined Bayern on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2014.

He has been linked with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and the Premier League after scoring 30 goals last season.

Holger Badstuber overwhelmed by welcome from Bayern Munich fans

Carlo Ancelotti believes Augsburg made life difficult for his Bayern Munich side in their 3-1 DFB Pokal victory.

Holger Badstuber said he got "goosebumps" when the Bayern Munich crowd welcomed him back from injury after 259 days on Wednesday.

Badstuber received a rapturous reception when he came on to replace fellow Germany international Mats Hummels for the final 10 minutes of the 3-1 home victory over Augsburg on Wednesday.
