Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone praised his team's quick start to the game after they won 5-0 at Las Palmas on Saturday afternoon, while admitting an injury to defender Jose Maria Gimenez ahead of Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg at Real Madrid.

Eighteen minutes was all it took for Atletico Madrid to dismantle Las Palmas and get Los Rojiblancos believing once more this could be their year in the Champions League.

With Kevin Gameiro finally restored alongside Antoine Griezmann up front, Atletico had a punch to match their defensive grit sadly lacking as Fernando Torres has deputised for the injured Frenchman.
