Roma starting to take shape under Luciano Spalletti

Roma have just one Serie A defeat since Luciano Spalletti was hired again as manager on Jan. 14.
Roma have just one Serie A defeat since Luciano Spalletti was hired again as manager on Jan. 14.

After an awkward start, Luciano Spalletti's second reign as Roma boss is starting to take shape. In winning Tuesday night's dramatic clash with Sassuolo 2-0, Roma strung together back-to-back victories for the first time since topping the league in late October, and the new faces brought in have added fresh impetus to a team that had been in a downward spiral since November.

Now Spalletti is looking to drag his side back into the Champions League positions, and with Fiorentina drawing 1-1 at Bologna...

Ashley Cole says he joined LA Galaxy to 'work hard,' not for the beaches

With Ashley Cole completing a move to LA Galaxy, remind yourself of his incredible career so far.

CARSON, Calif. -- Ashley Cole insists he didn't sign with the LA Galaxy because of the MLS club's proximity to the beach.

The former Arsenal, Chelsea and England left-back drew the ire of many in American soccer when he said upon joining Italy's Roma in July 2014 that he had turned down MLS offers because wasn't "ready to relax on a beach yet."

On Friday, Cole said the quote, while accurate, was taken out of context.

"I'm not going to come here and try to defend myself," Cole said after being introduced...

Mohamed Salah, Stephan El Shaarawy lead Roma past Sassuolo

ESPN FC's Steve Nicol says that El Shaarawy does not score enough goals for Roma to have taken a gamble on.

The last time Stephan El Shaarawy scored in back-to-back league games was for AC Milan in December 2012, back when he was one of the rising stars of Italian football. Those two goals, scored against Torino and Pescara, turned out to be the end of a honeymoon period in which he bagged 16 goals in all competitions for AC Milan and looked like one of Europe's most promising young attackers.

Between then and signing for Roma last week, he had scored just seven club goals in three desperate years...

Roma boss Luciano Spalletti follows Mancini in losing temper with reporter

Roma boss Luciano Spalletti was angered by a reporter on Tuesday.

Luciano Spalletti became the latest Serie A coach to clash with a Mediaset reporter following Roma's 2-0 win over Sassuolo on Tuesday.

The Italian union of sports reporters (USSI) on Monday called for talks with Serie A bosses after Roberto Mancini criticised Mediaset's Mikaela Calcagno live on air for her questioning following Inter Milan's 3-0 derby defeat to AC Milan at the weekend.

While Calcagno was not the host on Tuesday night, her replacement was given an earful by Spalletti, even after...

Roma legend Francesco Totti plays keepy-uppies with ballboy

While he didn't get onto the pitch, Francesco Totti managed to find alternative ways to keep himself occupied during Roma's 2-0 away win over Sassuolo on Tuesday night.

Taking time out from his warm-up routine, the veteran club captain stopped limbering up to play a quick game of keepy-uppies with the ballboy stationed behind the Roma dug-out.

Totti wasn't quite...
