Former Ghana and Ajax midfielder Yakubu Abubakari has died aged 36.
The Ghanaian Football Association announced the news on Twitter, saying: "Our thoughts are with his family. May his soul RIP."
The BBC reported that Abubakari died in hospital in Tema, a Ghanaian city, on Tuesday.
Abubakari won 16 caps for Ghana and played for them during the 2006 African Nations Cup.
He also featured during qualifying for the 2006 World Cup but was not selected to go to the final tournament.

Marc Overmars has denied being in talks with Arsenal about a return to the club next summer.
Overmars played for Arsenal between 1997-2000 and is currently the director of football at Ajax, with speculation having mounted that the North London club are interested in bringing him back in a similar role.

Newcastle midfielder Siem de Jong has completed a permanent move back to Ajax as manager Rafael Benitez continues to clear the decks in the hope of making further signings.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez, subject to a work permit, after he completed a medical.
Last week, Ajax confirmed that Sanchez would depart for a transfer fee of €40 million (£36.6m) that could rise to €42m with add-ons depending on appearances and success.
The 21-year-old becomes Tottenham's first signing of the summer and the most expensive in their history, breaking the £30m record set by Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko.
